It's funny you bring it up, because from the first packing video I watched I was, and still am, amazed and admire how much care you put into each package. It was a surprise to see you care about how products arrived, when it's pretty much accepted that things will be squashed in transit. At the same time though, I get what you mean about letting go of the perfectionism, because it takes so much time, and your time is valuable. Also, not your bf just slapping the first shipping label on LOL.

I think as small businesses and creators, we can sometimes feel the pressure to grow and be as efficient as a "big business." There are definitely times for efficiency but being slower and attentive and caring about the details is good, too! Growth also should not be in a goal in itself, I think. There is no rule that every business needs to get bigger and bigger. With that growth comes many more tasks that steal time away from your creative work and a lot of pressure. Finding the balance in it all is tricky! I relate as a recovering perfectionist and efficiency lover. You're self-aware and doing great 🎉

Um, hold up. Hard drive fan broke?? ...fan in your hard drive??? It would be incredibly rare to find a commercial hard drive made in the last 25+ years that had a fan in it. If you still have that drive you might bring it to someone else to retrieve the data. If they told you the "hard drive fan" broke, I'm sceptical. If you want that footage, it couldn't hurt to get a second opinion. 🤞 Super sweet for you bf to get you an SSD- static drives are the best.

I will say about perfectionism and parenthood, please be careful to not become a controlling mother, you will give your child anxiety that way, you need to let them take control and make mistakes and be imperfect. Just for the future,

So here's an uncommon thought, or more of a question : why would people necessarily want to increase their business? Does increasing a business mean success? Why wouldn't one just want to keep it as is, if they can live out of it? Especially for a small business, what if you are content with how you live and just appreciate being a small business? It's really something that has been bothering me. Even for big brands or stores, they always seek to increase their number, but do we REALLY need to do that? So, what I'm saying is just : keep doing what you like doing, the way you want to !

And anyways, to me it felt like you want to check your goods just because your business is like your baby and you want to take care of it and of your customers. And while it does take you soooo much time, I was always touched that you did that, because it means you really CARE in all the ways possible. So THANK YOU for being so generous and careful is what people should be thinking... 🥰🤲🧡 I admire you for everything that you do and have done 🌟

I completely understand the concern of 'perfectionism'. I make laser-engraved plaques and I've been known to remake an entire plaque because I can see the imperfections when others can't see it. It's taken me a year to jump this hurdle.

No dont listen to them, when we receive an order thats 100% cared for, it shows a better product. I definitely would be unhappy with a floppy piece ontop of it. It looks like better quality with you steaming them. Please keep being you.

We like you, because you care so much about us and the customer experience. We desperately NEED more people like you in the world. If your process takes longer, then it takes longer. It is worth it for so many positive reasons.

Totally get the perfectionism with needing your products to look their best/high quality! I think as small artist biz/designers we deeply care about the products we create, possibly more so than the consumer! I know I struggle with this, and am concerned that a consumer will be unhappy with their purchase and won't buy from me again. It's a hard thing to let go of, and I know I've spent more hours than needed tweaking designs and worrying over the tiniest of imperfections that only I would see!

I'm usually a silent watcher, but when you talked so openly about your struggle with perfectionisme and this affecting your creative work or even energy level, it resonated so much with me. It made me feel stuff and makes me think about my own issues with this.. haha.. Thank you for being so vulnerable and sharing your own feelings!

And also, as a small business owner myself, the work and effort you put into every part of your job (the creative work, the quality control, but then also the filming everything & editing!), gurl, you are doing A LOT and you are doing it so well and i think viewers/customers should not underestimate the work that goes into this aside from the 'actual' business side on the shop part - and maybe you yourself, don't underestimate the work you do, you can be very proud of yourself ❤! I love watching the videos so much, it always gives me a creative boost and feels like i just talked with a fellow creative business owner. Keep doing a great job, Tiff!
