The local food you will get it in the next island Santo Antão. It is the agricultural island. If you book a pension for 2 or 3 days, they will feed you with local food everyday. You will get the real catchupa (it is a rich stew/soup), you will get couscous (a unique breakfast ''cake'' made into a pot), you will get the typical African fish stew(fish with igname, kassava/manioc, plantain banana). You will get the grog/rhum which is made there. There is local goat cheese. Finally you will get papaya and coconut sweets/deserts.

Cape Verde is such an interesting and unusual place. On the island of Boa Vista, you can see one of the most unique forms of integration among Africans. I honestly think it’s the strongest example of pan-African integration in all of West Africa—I’ve never seen anything like it.

What’s strange, though, is the divide. The wealthier areas of the city are mostly controlled by the Italians, who dominate the economy on the islands. It’s like what they’ve done in places from South Africa to Nairobi, using exploitation to stay in control.

On the other hand, the African side is fascinating. You see people from all over West Africa living side by side with the local Cape Verdeans. But despite this mix, there’s still a noticeable tension. They rarely allow mixed marriages, and you can sense a deep-seated dislike or disdain toward other Africans from the locals.

That’s why I think this is one of the strangest examples of integration I’ve come across.

Look what happened in Liberia, Sierra Leone, which were countries created by colonial powers and USA philantropic societies to receive Africans Americans freed from slavery and sent to these two countries They created apartheid system formed a ruling class with the privileges and had their separated schools, hospitals while the majority of Indigenous Africans were excluded and lived in absolute poverty Then one day a civil war broke out against these Africans Americans with a lot of slaughter
So Cape Verdians are not our Brothers and Let's stop treating them like our Brothers Let's be Clear

Sao Vincent Island is not the best island in Cape Verde, but Mindelo is the most beautiful city in Cape Verde.
