Welcome to the JAFFNA - a city in the north of Sri Lanka packed with its own CUISINE! Today we are taking you for another unique food experience.

Jaffna is a city on the northern tip of Sri Lanka. Nallur Kandaswamy is a huge Hindu temple with golden arches and an ornate gopuram tower. By the coast, star-shaped Jaffna Fort was built by the Portuguese in the 17th century and later occupied by the Dutch and British. Jaffna Public Library is a symbol of the city’s post-war regeneration. Jaffna Archaeological Museum has Dutch cannons and pre-colonial artifacts.

Thosai, idly, pittu, vades rice and curries including seafood and meats (mainly mutton) are cooked with local herbs and spices and are rich in their flavours. Kool seafood soup, bone Rasam, Mutton Poriyal, fiery Jaffna crab curry, Brinjal and Murunga (vegetable known as drum sticks), are all signature dishes in Jaffna.
