Me and my wifes monthly income does not cover our monthly expenditure, we do not smoke or drink, we don't even have nights out at the pub and a Thearter show is out of the question.We have not had an annual holiday for the passed 10 years, we did however visit the USA 5 yeasrs ago but our daughter paid for the flights and we stayed at her home in the states.We do have a 15 years old car that gets us to the supermarket, doctors twice a week for both our nurses treatments. So, all in all if not for our savings we would be on the "Bread Line". I did have a pension paiy rise last month, should I save up the pay rise for 15 months I would have enough to buy a packet of fags ( if I smoked )

I was told some years ago u der labour it will be a police state. It seems to be getting that way I work each year from I was 16 years old right up to I was 70 years and paid into my state pension so what have they done with our money most likely give it to people that come hear by boat. I spoke to a chap that lived near me he told me they had to keep moving so they don't get caught they where living 6 to a 3 bed house. In one year they paid nothing Al work money was sent home so when they return they lived like lords.

I paid my National Insurance since 1970 till I reached state pension age in 2017, but have had to continue to work as the state pension for me and my wife would not be enough to live on.

This is already done in pensions. For every ten pounds you have in savings one pound is deducted from your pension.
They are looking in the wrong place, many work off tax & claim benefit or claim housing benefit but don't declare they have a man in full time work living with them.

They will NOT be looking into accounts if you are just claiming your pension, only if claiming pension credit and other means tested benefits. If the pension becomes means tested then they will be.
