Our stress response has been honed over hundreds of thousands of years to keep us alive. But when there are ongoing, long-term stressors, this system doesn't always serve us well. How do we live with and deal with discomfort, fear, uncertainty, and disease—ALL of which constitute "dis-ease," or the opposite of ease, in our minds and bodies?
While there's no "easy fix," the good news is that there are very practical things we can start doing now that will go a long way.
