Ps2 version is very close indeed

The PS2 version supports force feedback wheels by Logitech which is a nice plus over the Xbox.

On xbox the graphic was better. For example... At 6.15 the ps2 version has not light on the car.

Xbox seems slightly more clear with less aliasing, other than that, pretty much identical.

The only ps2 game l have tried to play on my 60gb pal ps3 that doesn't work plays the intro press start and it freeze on the menu have often wondered if an American copy on an American 60gb would work as they had hardware emulation as well as software emulation where as pal 60gb only has software emulation

The PSP port is amazing and the frame rate is a bit off but just plays just as good as these versions. I think the frame rate is better if you play time attack because it's only you without any other cars in screen so it's a bit smoother.

A versão de PS2 é horrível, nunca rodaria um Jet Set Radio Future com um hardware tão podre.

I expected Xbox to crush it, but it really doesn't seem to be a huge difference. A few minor pros and cons for each version, but overall close.

A versão PS2 tem muito serrilhamento, isso é visível na tela de escolha do veículo. Já a versão Xbox roda mais liso, mas como nem tudo são gráficos......

At first they look pretty identical but if you pay close attention it becomes clear that on the Xbox version the eviroment has better details

On the PS2 version I like how you can clearly see the characters moving inside through the window but overall the Xbox version looks better

Missing sun aside, the real big downside to the Xbox version is that it didn’t get the special edition called “OutRun 2 SP: Special Tours” which only came out for PS2 in Japan only. Special Tours features a ton of bonuses, so it’s a big loss for the Xbox version.

These are nice comparison videos. I still have Outrun on the Sega Saturn and recently got Outrun 2 for the OG XBox for around $30. I notice that this Outrun 2006 goes for $150 plus on EBay! I wonder why so much ? 😬

The only difference is that the PlayStation is built to last. My Xbox CD Rom took a shit.

A versão japonesa do PS2 tem conteudo a mais, como, carros e musicas, coisas que só tem na versão de PSP tambem aparecem na japonesa de PS2, agora que tem um patch em ingles para a versão japonesa, essa é a que eu mais jogo. Em qualquer versão, a diversão é garantida...o jogo não envelhece, é realmente muito bom mesmo.

Xbox tiene una señal como con filtrado bilineal no me gusta como se mira en la crt, en cambio ps2 tiene como una imagen mas limpia

Na minha opinião diante do vídeo é que a versão do Xbox está mais polida, mais brilho e maior contraste . Mas nunca cheguei a jogar a versão do Xbox e só joguei no PlayStation 2 e a jogabilidade no PlayStation 2 parece ser melhor e mais divertido

A versão do Xbox é praticamente a do Arcade, já que a placa do Arcade é um Xbox com um pouco mais de memória RAM.

Nobody messes with that first Xbox. 20 years later it’s still my favorite console. The graphics and gameplay are timeless.

- does the xBox version really has the original arcade outrun playable?
- Does this Xbox game is compatible on xBox 360 ?

The original Xbox is such a timeless monster. I still play my collection all the time. I have this one. The first time I saw the original on a flat screen tv I shit! Way better!

It's worth noting that OutRun 2 (the Arcade game that was later ported to consoles as OutRun 2006) ran on a Sega Chihiro, an arcade board based on the Xbox architecture.

Less texture variance, less objects in the scenery, no reflections and slowdown on PS2.

If you add the sun in Xbox just looks a lot better. However, there is a Japanese PS2 version released later that has more content than Xbox.

Im have both, and I have to go with the ps2 version. You can't drift in the xbox version.
