As a 67 year old "body builder", Mr. Tomic captures the true essence of why some of us continue to train - even into our 60s, 70s, and 80s. We enjoy the sport. We enjoy the challenge. We enjoy the friendships we build over time. Excellent advice from a knowledgeable guy. I recommend Mr. Tomic highly.
ОтветитьHow tall are u bro
ОтветитьOnce I got on sarms I got jacked in 3 months
ОтветитьMy grandma is the only person who has noticed. "Why do you look so muscley?" Thanks MaMa.
ОтветитьI'm so glad you called out Leaness. Radu Antoniu has an excellent video on why this is what makes so many intermediate lifters look 'average'. Unfortunately though, staying lean is a recipe to look good as an intermediate while never advancing either.
ОтветитьYou know you've made a mark in the online fitness space if Coach Greg makes a video about you 😅.
ОтветитьAlmost done with two months of cutting, with a deficit of 1000 calories; having calories from 2600 to 1600. How long should I go to maintenance before cutting again? Supposedly cutting too long has setbacks.
ОтветитьI went to go pickup a pair of adjustable dumbbells that I got on Craigslist a couple years ago. At that point I’ve been weight training for 3 years.
When I went up to the guy to buy them, he said “thinkin of starting to lift to get in shape for the summer eh?”
And I felt that and still think about it.
Just finished a fat loss phase about a month ago, followed by a month of maintenance. I got down to 11.5% bf on DEXA scan and looked great. Now I’m doing a lean bulk.
I don’t really care too much to get a ton more muscle, but I know that if I put on another 5-10 pounds of muscle I will be able to maintain at a higher caloric intake, so that’s the main goal!
Great video!
ОтветитьThanks, Mario. You were one of the first fitness people I started following, I was lucky to find you and not fall into the hands of some greedy, low-life, money-grabbing hack (there are many to choose from). You always provide us with the information and encouragement to go on our own fitness journeys, so I thought that my gratefulness should be noted.
ОтветитьIve been working out all my life but it wasn't until i hit my 50s when i started seeing real results, what changed? i quit alcohol.
ОтветитьI love how the answer was that you might already be there, you're just carrying too much body fat.
ОтветитьImagine the luxury of not having kids and being able to sleep and eat right 😂
ОтветитьI feel personally attacked
ОтветитьFirst you said your micros were good then you went on to say you drank on weekends, had quick meals and not enough real food.
ОтветитьThe other thing is that you see yourself every day, and the daily changes are practically non-existent. I thought that that nothing had changed, and then I saw a family photo from 3 years ago and I was a completely different person. Sometimes it can just be a matter of perspective and not updating your mental model of "what you look like"
ОтветитьTrue, i spent a decade trying to look good by putting on a lot of muscle on a 20-25% bodyfat body, I'm natural too so only so much muscle i can gain, i look muscular in clothes and my arms are 17 inches at also 5 foot10 frame but don't look the best shirtless - time to cut?
ОтветитьEat home made soup for max gains
ОтветитьSo when lean bulk how much weight gain a week?
ОтветитьHe forgot about 🧬 genes , he has western genes and you have middle estern so you both built are different in many aspects, doesn’t mean there is better but genes control a lot than he thinks
ОтветитьYeah 12% bf is a pipe dream. My body won't have that. I'm running 3x a week, regularly 40-50k steps a day, and eating 1,500 calories less than my lean bulk calories and my body won't budge past 27/28%. I think I'm slightly leaner than that, but that's what my home scale says.
ОтветитьОчень хорошо
Ответить+++
Ответить👍👍👍
ОтветитьThank you so much!
ОтветитьMake sure you're getting enough protein. That was my issue that I finally just realized about 6 weeks ago. I also wasn't getting enough carbs (before my workouts) as well which didn't allow me as much energy for my workouts (both lifting and running). I lost 3 lbs of muscle weight....not good. I'm finally on the right track. I'm fortunate enough to work with a R.D. who has been guiding me. Since increasing my carbs, I have way more energy during exercises and my recovery is most def. quicker. Time will tell on the muscle building front (with the increase in protein).
ОтветитьA family member recently asked me if I lift. I told him I did. He said he can tell by how broad my chest looks. I don't focus on my chest anymore than I do any other muscle group. Perhaps I just have a higher genetic potential for chest growth? Either way, it did feel good that someone took notice.
ОтветитьYou where overtraining
ОтветитьThose average pictures look better than 99% of the population. The average physique is obese and can do zero pull ups.
ОтветитьBeen following your advice. Down to 11% body fat per a DEXA scan but still have a bloated belly, 42” waist at 6’2” and 220lbs. I didn’t believe the DEXA results as a body fat via tape measure has me at a more believable 23%. I can grab flab from my middle by the handful. How is that 11%?
Ответить3-4 days week is for people who work less then 60 hours a week 😂 trust me everyone 2 days a week is all you need if your a working man, these people are telling you how to work out based on there life style not a working mans life style
Ответитьgreat video!
ОтветитьDon't forget many influencera resort to PEDs to either gain more muscle or help them remain lean. Or most probably both.
ОтветитьNothing a little bit of juice can't fix. Also, your body doesn't care if it's real food or not, macros are king.
Ответить10-14 times a week.
ОтветитьSounded like you had a life when you were just 'average'.
ОтветитьWhen I was a teenage gas station cashier, we’d flip a coin to see who had to clean the women’s bathroom since it was so significantly worse than the men’s bathroom.
ОтветитьStraight facts, once I got down to 10-15% BF people
Notice way more though to myself I feel so much smaller.
Mario always spittin facts
ОтветитьSpot on.
At least for me.
I started lifting a few months ago. I am definitly still hitting PR's. About every 2 weeks im adding a little more weight because i can hit 15 reps in my sets. My issue from all this is my diet. I have been in a calorie deficit for prob 15 years. I just do not eat. However the past few months, i have been close to my protein goal. Im single, work 12-14 hr days 6d a week. I eat dinner, recently been trying to snack on peanut butter, home made (peppercorn) jerky ( nothing else ), Oikos triple 0 yogurt and cottage cheese. Dinner i have recently starting ordering F75, but that is because i hate cooking. I spend about 4-5 hrs in the gym a week, and i get 7 hrs of sleep. Im still new, and seeing progress. Im in it for the long haul, trying to toned at the very least.
ОтветитьMan you're right!!
ОтветитьThis video came to me just on time. Thank you Mario. I too noticed that same frustration within me. I am doing everything I can but it seems something is lacking. I fail to see progress in the gym. I was about to go berserk and this video came as a blessing in disguise. ❤❤
ОтветитьI know the answer. 80% of club goers just sit there and stare at their phones.
ОтветитьThing is although I agree with the fact that more sleep and less stress will help your gains, the harsh reality is that if you are a normal person with responsibilities, kids, house, a demanding job etc, you are simply going to have to accept that you may always look "average"... But that's ok! If you want perspective, compare yourself to the average person who doesn't work out at all and you'll see your efforts are not in vain. You do not have to live like a monk like this video would suggest to make working out worthwhile.
