ОтветитьBut on pc couldn't you just bind alternate crouch and jump buttons in the keybinds menu to the same button to send the inputs at the same time? If you can, it's an unmodified version of the game only using intended options to pull of this unintended maneuver with 100% accuracy that includes 0 additional software and isn't hardware dependent.

ОтветитьInevitably you’re taking what is essentially a skill issue in modeling it to make it easier I’m not a speed runner but you fundamentally change the game so you could achieve faster speeds in your speed running practices but if that’s what the community decides then I guess it’s OK but the Xbox should’ve been segregated from the start

Like, you said software and hardware macros got ruled out immediately, but let's be honest with ourselves here. You didn't rule them out because they didn't solve the problem, you ruled them out because you didn't want to use macros to solve the problem. Because macros would, in fact, solve this problem. If you have a software macro setup to input both inputs at the same time, it is literally impossible to have your crouch and jump inputs fall on separate frames. A software macro is the perfect fix for this problem, but the community just didn't want to use them.
ive never played titanfall 2 but if you can multi bind (i.e bind multiple inputs to one output) then you could just have a seperate key for crouch kicks that runs the jump and crouch output

ОтветитьThis reminds me of a a dumb team building challenge where the premise was to synchronize an event perfectly. The solution was team rhythm but it irked me because the statistical probability of two events occurring perfectly simultaneously on the infinitely divisible spectrum of time is literally 0. you can always go one decimal point further to find the events did not occur at the same time, no matter how close they are. Without a buffer, there's always a random chance of landing on different frames, no matter how small

Ответитьpotentially stupid question, but why was it not possible to bind both crouch and jump to the same key, and just use that instead? To be fair, haven't logged onto TF2 for a while, so unsure if its possible to do, (or possibly fall under "macro" category), but I know you can double bind in other games. Seems like it would be simpler, and not require a special mod or add delay from a buffer system.

ОтветитьThe frame timing with inputs seems very similar to why superglides in apex can be rng even with the exact same input timing. This actually helped me understand why. Funny enough they are also based on frame perfect crouch and jump timing. That tech is slightly more complicated In that it’s a jump followed by a crouch on exactly the next frame but the concept still works. Superglides can be pretty consistent and they have a very predictable run up where you prepare for it, but they are still never 100% reliable. I can see why basically hitting a superglide timing every second of a run isn’t really possible. Superglides also have the problem where they can be very hardware dependent due to polling rate and the weirdness of how some keyboards poll keys in clusters it can just be straight up impossible on some keyboards at higher frames.
ОтветитьReally surprised this is what the community settled on. Forcing an artificial input delay seems horrible, and modifying the game seems worse than just allowing a macro. Most CS:GO events settled on allowing jumpthrow binds.
