Well, Italian polities had been in a chaotic goblin mode all throughout the Middle Ages at war with each other... way before the Renaissance.

Belladonna being used to "brighten" eyes is mentioned in many books in the mid to late 1800s, like Little Women, Anne of Green Gables, and the Little Colonel series‼️

For the last one, I think the real question should be "Did they bathe often/clean themselves often?" Because there's a difference between bathing yourself for cleanliness vs spraying yourself with perfumes/scents to keep bad smells away.

Please do come back with more history support!!
This was such a pleasant way to learn. I used to think i hated history but what I really hate it the way it had been taught in my school. Not even the teachers, I think they did a great job. But the structure was so... tedious and made me feel like i couldn't trust the info in my textbooks.

But this format is awesome. Interesting, full of great (and some rude) questions that get answered with great detail and passion. 10/10!

I am actually surprised that he was allowed to be left handed. Even my parents saw kids' left hand tied behind their backs when they tried to write with their left hand.

Countless thanks for the explanation 😊 Renaissance and Middle Ages are my favorite periods. I've have just known that Leonardo often paints androgynous people, it's very interesting.

after listening to this, I understand why colonizers felt the need to conquer, their food sounds TERRIBLE, just why did they have to bring diseases and colonial mentality, oh well, did food insecurity made them greedy? poor little white man

When I went to see the Mona Lisa I was more surprised at its small size. In the Louvre it sits near paintings that take up whole walls. No you will not get close and it is also behind thick glass.

Imagine blaming men and the patriarchy for makeup lmfao. Such horrible misinformation. At no time in history did men ever prefer women with makeup. This is strictly a woman preference and embodies feminism/matriarchy. Sad that historians like this dbag exist. Product of western collegiate inadequacy.

There are some errors here. Ancient China DID have movable type, not just block printing, generally credited to Bi Sheng in the mid 11th century (Northern Song Dynasty). And metal type was being used to print books in Korea over a century before Gutenberg. Now, Gutenberg DID make a name of important innovations on the technology--he used a novel metal alloy to create his type which could be produced and reused much more quickly, formulated a new type of ink that better adhered to metal--but he didn't event the concept of printing or movable type or movable metal type
