Oh, you can't compare her with the divine Stupenda. The Monster of Perfection as Tebaldi defined her, has no match. You can't beg Caballé the top notes she has never had. But she's quite well. I' ve never liked her very much. She sang a very very bad Manon Lescaut at the Colon, but here she is plausible. Joanie is well above everybody.

Yes, you are right. I hate those ignorants who always look for top notes and, not knowing anything about music, forget the rest. And, yes, interpolated high notes which are not written. I don't like very much Caballé but she is very fine here. This repertoire suits her well. Not Gioconda, Wagner and verism.

@claudiocp35 What you don't seem to understand is that your beloved Joan Sutherland herself said that she was afraid to sing this role when Caballe was singing it as well... ie she admitted Caballe was superior as Lucrezia. If you don't like it then why are you even on this page!?

The famous E flat (MIb) It's an optional note. And even if the Mi were on the score...Caballe's performance is amazing. I can't believe that there is people bashing her cause in this particular montage it was decided to not adding that note (You do understand that singers not just stand on stage and sing,there is a lot of preparation behind an opera performance) She is just superba!.
