I've been wanting to get a pair of the super bright colored tech fins (RK3 or Jets), but really like my Quatros.
Btw, you and your son's purple and orange Novas are very appreciated by students trying to keep an eye on the instructor in classes. I used to go with all black everything, but after chasing those orange fins around for a few classes, I always make sure to wear a bright obvious color to help my buddy know which diver is me.
What type of fins would you recommend for a jr diver (10-11 years old)? Most of what I see that fits kids are shorter snorkeling fins.
ОтветитьI noticed that you are wearing a NAUI t-shirt. I am a NAUI instructor since 1987.
I love the Scubapro Go Sport fins the most, mares quattro the least.
👏🥰👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
ОтветитьHi Bob, I hope you’re planing to make a full review of the Scubapro Seawing Supernova pretty soon ✌🏼🤿✌🏻
ОтветитьHello sir, great video. I’ve got a question for you since I do not know what decision to take. I am not into scuba diving, just casually freediving and snorkeling. I have found someone that sales a new pair of avanti quattro plus + mares flexa ds 5mm boots for 60€. Basically at this point, 60 eur for this pair of flipper and boots sounds like a bargain to me so I am thinking to buy them and use them for freediving and snorkeling. What are you thoughts? My only requirement is to get a pair of flippers that can propel me powerfully under water so, I have to choose between this kit and a pair of seac motus spearfishing fins. What would you advise me to do? If I get the Mares avanti quattros for freediving, would those be powerfull enough? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work !
ОтветитьJust bought a set of the dive rite Xt fins from y'all. And honestly I'm super impressed. I had a pair of the edge velocity pro and they were great for flutter kicks but not so much for frog and back kicks. The XT fins were super easy to backfin helicopter and had a really powerful frog kick.
ОтветитьHi from France, what type/brand of fins would you recommend for a tall (2m - foot 13) and heavy diver (250 lbs). I use Mares Avanti Quattro Power Fins to swim in pools but for all reasons you exposed in previous videos i'm going on open heel fins. I tried seawings xl which i found not powerfull enough but the foot pocket was nice and mares quatro xl which were powerfull but i found the foot pocket a bit too small. Thank you for your channel. Your video on the Aqualung L3gend finished to convince me on this reg :) and after 80 dives i never regretted it.
ОтветитьTolvalyn here! Coming back to get the ScubaPro Seawing fins. Rob loves his! Thanks Bob☺️
ОтветитьI got DiveRite XT fins and Sea Nova , one kick of DRXT=3 kicks SN. The best three fins in the world to against water flows 1. Dive Rite XT fins 2. GULL Barracuda 3. Scubapro Jet Fins
ОтветитьThank you for making this video 🙏
ОтветитьI have the Mares X-treme. I've had them for less than 6 months and have a dozendives on them and a few pool sessions. While I like them and they have good thrust for flutter kicks they are not good for me for frog kicks. For cold water diving the XL size foot pocket is still small for my dry suit boots. The other problem I have is that the plastic on the blade is not a solid peice and they are begining to seperate at the seam where the flexible plastic in the center is welded to the hard plastic side bar/rails.
ОтветитьI've been using a YELLOW Avanti Quattro for years and i've been found once when i lost my DSMB by having my fin in my hand up . Will never use any other color . Love them
ОтветитьThanks a lot, many good fins... I have been diving with the Mares for several years. It has been good in strong current. I am tempted to get the SCUBAPRO... Question: How does the Mares compare to the Scubapro Seawing Nova Gorilla Fin? I know the SCUBAPRO is a lot lighter to travel with, BUT: how is it handling strong current? Also, how would you test these fins and chose the best you like? Go to a store, suit up and test them in a swimming pool? But how about testing them in strong current? You need an endless pool... or real ocean... Thanks, Paul
ОтветитьMy SeaWing Novas purchased in 2016 broke in 2020. Hopefully they've done another redesign. I did get my warranty replacement.
ОтветитьGood morning Bob from Greece !
I have been using Mares Avanti Tre FF fins and have been very happy with them being so light (600g each). I do not feel that I wear fins and I have very good propulsion in all styles. I am struggling with the back kick but maybe is my (lack of) skill on this. I am very tall with thin legs and dislike the stiff fins. Although I always dive in warm waters sometimes I have to rent boots in order get to the boat from a rocky shore and then before the dive take them out in order to use the FF fins , which is a bit awkward.
Which OH fins would you suggest to me ? Scuba pro Go sport ? Will it have enough propulsion ? I am a fan of Mares fins but the Xtream seems awkward to me and I have seen comparison video which did not perform so well compared to other Mares fins and the Quattro seem bulky.
Thanks a lot! Very useful info
ОтветитьThanks for the great review.
I own two of these fins: the Apeks RK3 (standard) and the Scubapro Seawing Nova 2 (standard). I'm very happy with both but I tend to use my RK3s more. They're neutrally buoyant, very sturdy, short and manoeuvrable, comfortable, come with spring straps and deliver great thrust. Excellent for flutter, frog, helicopter, and reverse. As for the SP Seawing Nova II - neutrally buoyant, has comfortable foot pockets and is lightweight (great for travelling). Probably the best OW flutter kick fins I've ever used but not quite as convincing when frogging. But when swimming against heavy currents and/or drift diving - they're ace! But...what's "right" for one diver might be "wrong" for the other. It all comes down to personal taste, physical capability, leg strength, technique, trim, dive environment etc so if possible, test the fins before you purchase them. I've had the opportunity to test most of my gear before buying so I've avoided costly pitfalls thus far...
im a big fan of the mares power planas
ОтветитьReally informative, thank you so much!
ОтветитьHi, I am a new diver who is looking for potential fins/flippers suitable for travel. I have Seawing Supernova (detachable) and Go Travel(light.about 1.1kg) in my list for now. What other fins/flipper can be taken into consideration?
ОтветитьIf you had to choose a pair to redo your PADI 800m fin swim, which would you prefer?
ОтветитьThe wing tip you’re referencing is called a “winglet” at least in a Austin anyway.
ОтветитьWhich is a better performing fin in heavier currents?
ОтветитьOr, instead of fins, you could get a scooter.
ОтветитьAre Apeks RK3s suitable for snorkelling?
Which one of them is best for snorkelling?
