Ok so let me school some guys they left out a few things.
Mechanics are the mechanical engineers of the trade field they dabble in everything. Electrical, hvac, welding, so on and so forth.
mechanics are more buff.
ОтветитьIn computer science we have devops where the engineers do the maintenance. The automotive industry need to adopt that model.
ОтветитьDo u think is it a good idea to start out as automotive mechanic for few years and then get a degree in ME & work as a Mechanical Engineer in Automotive field?
ОтветитьThe industry needs to shift to hourly permanently. Flat rate is just the most toxic and labor robbing way of paying a hard working mechanic.
ОтветитьGraduated 🎓
Motorcycle Mechanics Institute
Late/Early Model Harley Davidson, Hondatech24
Graduated 🎓 Universal Technical Institute Automotive Technology 2
Also going to
ASU Mechanical Engineering
I am currently enrolling as a student
In Mechanical Engineering
@ ASU
ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY
I try to think like an engineer but build like a mechanic. That way you'll see the pros and cons to a project and build it as simply as possible.
ОтветитьI live in the middle of nowhere and gas is still $3.70ish a gallon. Give me efficiency!
ОтветитьThe old debate who would build better mouse trap, mechanics or engineers..
ОтветитьLove this video, always wanted to learn this!!!
ОтветитьDoing subject like math chemistry, physic is relatable but do you actually use it
Ответить"gas is two dollars a gallon in the us" yeah right , you got us there..
ОтветитьWow, to become an engineer practically means creating vehicles from 0, that is genius, of course it is so well paid.
ОтветитьIt's pretty lop sided when mechanics have to fix the engineers f ups.
Ответить❤️
ОтветитьI just watched this and heard about 2 dollar a gallon of gas and I cried a little
ОтветитьI love videos like these! College summers I was working as an electrician’s apprentice, and now I’m an electrical engineer. Both professions are incredibly important and difficult!
On another note, I wouldn’t mind making engines tho haha!
Great video !!!
I am a technician, from my experience the best recipe for a successful project would rely on technicians and engineers working together. I believe its the best of both worlds; efficiency and ease of serviceability.
Both party’s would need to be big enough people to check their egos at the door and stay focused on the goal. Besides getting fairly compensated 💰 for the project…That would probably be the most difficult part 😎 🔧 🍺
I need an advice please!!!
Currently I've just finished my mechanical engineering degree, I don't have experience of working as an engineer in any company.
My hunger of learning how machines work hasn't been fulfilled by this degree, so I decided to start on a Diesel Mechanic career, I'm busy studying and learning and fiddling around with all the components that the college lectures show us, I'm interested and I like it.
But I don't know whether I'm on the right path, my goal is to design components that could replace and make current engines more efficient.
I want to accomplish that by using my engineering knowledge but I'm not sure whether I'm doing the right thing by adding another career (diesel mechanic) in top of another(Mechanical Engineering) without any Engineering work experience.???
I need advice on this, I'm passionate about Diesel trade but I feel like a lost and confused engineer...
Please advise!!!!
Can a automotive technician can become a engineer do doing a higher studies by transferring the credentials in diploma program.
Ответитьwow wow amanjing
ОтветитьI feel like it's a lot of checking things to see if they work...
ОтветитьI feel like it's a field full of problem solving ... an art and science.... Plus the really good items that you would work on are someone's intellectual property so they might have to share it with you if you want to know about it, unless your inventing something.
Ответитьi'm a qualified heavy vehicle diesel tech trying to get into mechanical engineering.
ОтветитьI wanted to see a fight!! 🤣
ОтветитьWhat great entertainers! Loved watching this, put a big grin on my face
ОтветитьI have been a senior tech reading directions written by young engineers straight out of college who have never touched an aircraft. Explaining to a mechanical engineer what RF is. Having an engineer tell me my trigonometry is better than his. I went from being a tech to non-degreed research engineer to Dir R&D to CTO. I think degrees can make people less creatively brave. I still plan to finish mine, but I’ve made it thus far without one whereas some folks with degrees wonder how a tech could know so much.
ОтветитьThat mechanic is downsizing and poking engineer degree
Let be clear Getting engineer degree is not that easy
Engineer will spend $1,000 for a $10 fix.
ОтветитьFrom my experience, Engineers and Technicians are always at odds. A lot of the time to the point they blame each other for whatever issues they have. The crazy thing it was always managements fought for whatever we were dealing with.
ОтветитьWhat sall become skilled Technician like you when electric cars will have replaced gasoline engine ?
ОтветитьAuto mechanics are the most underappreciated trades out there. A good mechanic is so useful.
ОтветитьFinally i find people who explain what a mechanicle egineer is i need to start to plan what job i want to have because i am about to go into high school and soon collage.
ОтветитьTotally correct about not having enough application taught at the beginning of engineering programs.
Ответитьi research this bc i'm getting out the military and i wanna learn more into cars and go into mechanical engineering but then you made this vid lol
hella good points on both sides
Being a diesel mechanic, we definitely spend a lot of time cursing engineers, for crappy designs! and hidden bolts!
ОтветитьHe is one in a million, best among many, most trusted , I almost gave up on trading then I met him through a friend, Austin is the most trusted trading expert who helped the life of my family and I ,
ОтветитьInteresting point you had on engineers working efficiently. Sometimes the greatest and most efficient creations are not received well by the masses, for example CVT transmissions are incredibly efficient and give a vehicle the highest possible acceleration to date; but people don't like it. It's as though there is efficiency and consumer opinion/ enjoyment at opposite ends of a sea-saw. Best of luck to you, balancing that sea-saw.
ОтветитьI love being an engineer, fix problems, find solutions to problems others can’t solve, it’s always thrilling!
ОтветитьMechanics tend to have fat fingers. Engineers have thinner fingers. One uses a keyboard, one uses a wrench. You never want to fat finger a keyboard, and you never want to break your arm with a wrench. ;)
ОтветитьThe role of an engineer is not to troubleshoot, an engineer designs and creates. That's the reason why they learn so much about science, math and physics, because to create and design you have to have pretty solid basics in the comprehension of concepts( aerodynamic, torque, fluids.....)
I agree that an engineer should learn the hands-on, but the primary role of an engineer is not to troubleshoot, that's what the technician is here for.
Yeah I’m an engineering program at my hs currently, and I have no clue what I wanna do in the future, but you being confused too at one point in your careers gives me hope because you always hear of engineer having to always be knowing what to do at any given moment, nice talk glad I watched
ОтветитьWatching after 5 yrs. Still epic!
Not only passion will help, but skills. Balance those two and money will come.
This was an awesome and informative video! 💪🏾
ОтветитьGuys, I just love the way you make it look so simple regarding the difference in both areas, but more important is that you both realize how much both areas rely on each other, the just graduated is supported by the technical expert and technical expert learn some methodology as well! Cool humble video, congrats!
ОтветитьI’ve done my bachelors in mechanical engineering. Now I am pursuing Automotive technician diploma. Should I go on with engineering or work as an engineer(NB: I like to work on cars and machines, and I also like designing )
ОтветитьMe: "I'm studying mechanical engineering"
Older man from my Hispanic neighborhood: "so, you're a car mechanic"
Me: "... no"
