I have keptquiet about something that happened to me. I returned from Spain to stand for office in the local elections. I campaigned really hard and enthusiastically for the Labour party. I had paricipated in branch meetings by zoom. So I stood for the local council for Filton ward in North Bristol. I was candid about my views on health. I am a naturopathic nutritionist and pro natural treatments. I was open about this. Earlier in the p…den…c I had had a discussion with some expats about my stance. I studied this at University. Anyway after acfew exchanges I felt it wasn’t right to continue. So fast forward to going through selection. I was candid about my stance. One ward did not select me, the other did select me. The names were about to be printed on the ballot papers. Come the morning of the printing I was phoned by the secretary of the Labour party saying they had chosen to deselect me having seen the way back machine. The interchange was 2 years old. I stepped down and moved away. I was deeply hurt this was against democratic procedures. I had done no wrong. I felt very unsafe and still do. I stood for healthy and am trained to do so. If people want me to represent them so be it.
