It's 2018 and guess what, housing is on its way! Not only is housing on the way, but it’s on the way this year! Not only is housing on the way this year, but AFFORDABLE housing is on its way, THIS YEAR! And would you believe me if I told you it’s all happening in one of the hottest real estate spots in the country? Downtown Sacramento!
800 K St & 801 L St (8th & L)
The Sacramento Kings have plans in use for a mixed-use development. The project will incorporate the old Bel-Vue apartment building which will add more than 40 residential units as well as 20,000 sq. ft. of retail space.
Marshall Hotel - Hyatt Centric
This loft-inspired design integrates and celebrates the century-old brick facade of the Marshall Hotel through a meticulous preservation and restoration effort. The proposed renovation would transform this historic, five-story concrete structure into a 165-room Hyatt Place hotel. A new 10-story structure would be added to the adjacent spot where Jade Apartments currently sits. The 103,979 sf project also includes 6,546 sq. ft. of ground floor retail.
P Street State Building (The lot between 7th and 8th and O and P street)
This project will construct a new, modern office building at 7th/8th and O/P streets in Sacramento. The new building will be approximately 20 stories and approximately 838,000 total gross square feet, and will include office, assembly, storage, building support, parking, retail, and commercial food service space. The building will have an expected building capacity of 3,450 employees and will house staff from the California Natural Resources Agency, the Department of Water Resources, the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, the Department of Conservation, the California Conservation Corps, and the Wildlife Conservation Board.
The Railyards Residential Project
Located at the corner of Railyards Boulevard and 6th Street, the first Railyards mixed-use residential project will consist of 277 residential rental units with another 5,000 square feet of ground floor retail. The residential units will be a mix of studios, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom units.
Amenities at the project will include a rooftop deck, courtyard pool, co-work space, fitness center and a community lounge. The design for this mixed-use residential project is a modern interpretation of the historical elements inspired by the site.
The Press Building (2000-2098 Q Street, Under Construction)
The Press Apartments will be a 253 residential unit project that will be built on the site of the current parking garage for The Sacramento Bee. The garage, purchased by Sotiris Kolokotronis and his group for $5.7 million, will be developed into one of the largest residential developments in the central city and will allow The Sacramento Bee to lease space back from the buyer as part of the sales agreement.
