Unfortunately, DuoLingo is just about useless for a teacher trying to teach English to students who speak a language that the teacher cannot read (eg. Chinese, Japanese, etc). You can only enter into the program from the point of view of the student in their native language, and a teacher is unable to determine just what is being presented - so that the tool cannot easily be effectively utilized. It may be great for independent learners, but it is near useless for supervised or co-ordinated 3rd party (as from a teacher's) perspective. ...A shame...
