We had a pub in Irvine, Ayrshire called the Cross Keys down at the harbour. It is now a coffee shop (doing well) But I remember the lounge had a piano in it and some of the sing song nights were amazing. I used to go there back in the 70's and the lounge was full of people out for a good time. There was usually one guy playing, ( don't know if he was paid) but he was there all night until 10.00 closing time. Great nights , but some of them shouldn't have got up to sing!!!!

in the summer of 2025 I was in Devon UK, 9pm sat in a pub when a guy comes in has a drink then starts to play. well I new all the words from the old days so I let rip as well.we never bought another drink this went into a lockdown I could sing and boy could he play. the pub filled with people , The landlord asked us back the next night. we even had a free super. alas now my eye`s are dim I can not see I have not brought my specs with me. now 85 STILL GOING. blessings TO YOU ALL 2024 Briddy UK.
