They really changed the Go-kart number from 69 to 68, hah! I assumed they choose the it, BECAUSE of the original number... Gotta keep it PG, cuz numbers can too sexy or scary.🤣

There was a flame but I think they should've also tested this with older lines.

8 hours on a fishing charter boat and not even a single bite? That’s the worst charter boat in existence.

I've seen a reel catch fire. It was an old one with a fair amount of internal corrosion, the owner in an effort to clean it had used petrol to degrease it and was spraying WD-40 to overcome a sticking clutch. The ignition source was not a nice Tope or delicious conger, it was a careless cigarette. Odds are some petrol was still trapped in the WD-40 after he'd rebuilt it, it sparked nicely. The line went up and the entire reel was a loss. Fortunately we were using tethers, rod went overboard and was hauled back. Total losses were £280 reel and some dignity, total saved was a £150 rod.

I read a book about an outback preacher which told short stories of some of the things that happened to him or that he saw while travelling around Western Australia and the Northern Territory. One time while he was travelling to the church at Coober Pedy he got two flat tyres, put on the spare and some passing Aborigines (they were on foot) managed to fill the other tyre with enough spear grass and yakka bush to make it work, these two types of grass are fairly thick and long so may have been better than straw as they wouldn't have fallen out as easily but it got the preacher and the Aborigines into town. He also came across some young locals once cooking the car battery on a fire to rejuvinate it enough to get the car going again, it apparently worked.

I'll tell you what you miss ... When we're fishing big guys, the reel drag doesn't suport the strengh of the fish. Só, we also put the thumb over the reel to stop the whell. Maybe it would increese the heat.

The fishing reel myth…
Fact is that those Big fish dont just Take one 20 sec run??
Some of Them fight for one hour… Taking Many runs!
Second run with a allready hot reel… Could make the difference?

But if it takes like 20sec to run out 400m Line… Guess how Long time it takes to reel inn that amount 🤣 Wich would lower the temperature💯

They was too aggressive with those wheels and also should try a front drive car.
The reel could be ignited by a cigarette? Maybe the fisher was smoking.

Once it was proven that the heat can generate oil vapor around the reel, the myth was plausible. Just anything can light such vapor to fire, be it an electrostatic spark, a cigar or intentionnaly with a lighter.

As an avid fisherman myself, I'd say NOT PLAUSABLE but I have seen a reel SMOKE TO A POINT WHERE U CAN'T TOUCH IT, the most powerful, fastest fish, with good fight that I can think of would be a 80kg+ Tuna or a full grown sail fish

I'd love to know what engine is claimed to be in that sidecar.
Sidecars are generally 600cc Supersport engines - none of them producing anything like the horsepower for 200mph, no matter what the gearing.

A first generation Hayabusa or a ZZR1400 could crack 200mph, but those generally aren't used in sidecars.

The reel has fuel it has heat, what it needs is oxygen to go, flame able solvents only evaporate fast and take heat away.

I know for certain that during WW11 my father used bicycle tyres filled with straw. O.K. it isn't a car, with the resultant power, but it did work for him.
