Love the video, feature expolainations and alternative apps. I agree that one of the core selling point of upgrading the device is for the system wide integration, so most people may prefere to keep the device and use a free algternatvie app, although I also thing that the privacy benefits of on-device and the private cloud are HUGELY important points for people to consider. A lot of people won't care, and that's fine, but it's important to note that the free alternatives are free for a reason. Yea, Google Photos and Lens can do the cool stuff for free, but its off-device and they want your data. ChatGPT can do the image creation and sumarizations, again, off-device, and they want that data. Like I said though, a lot of people are happy to share their data in exchange for the free features, but it just reminds me of the saying "If you're not paying for a product, you are the product!", so in some cases upgarding to the new device is worth it, not only for the integration, but for the on device "Edge-AI" as well as the data protection & privacy. (Plus the camera on the base modle 16 is a pretty solid upgrade).

I think it’s only worthy buying the iPhone 16 for people who are having issues with their current one and need to upgrade anyway. If they have enough money to afford a 16, but if their current one is on iOS 18 and working fine then there’s no need to upgrade

i dont ever use siri bc its just a huge security hole and unnecessary data collection that i dont feel is worth whatever predictions or tips that i can prob arrive/search for at my own. not to mention 3rd party literally will pay for access to customer data since its usefull for business so even if its exchange for a service i can use for free...its nothing close to being worth the profit my data will make the company that sells it to 3rd parties. its not even about privacy but if my data has value im selling that shit myself tf
