Please, ask an amp designer to explain the significance of power tube type relative to the surrounding circuit (including the output transformer). Dave Friedman has said for years that he would stop using EL34s, hundreds of which he has had to discard, if his customers did not demand them.
ОтветитьWOW. Credit Chris for bringing THE SOUND. Effect tour de force!
ОтветитьThat's killer!
ОтветитьMy reverb pedal looks very small and tiny now that I've heard that dual tank piece of real estate.
ОтветитьOh man, I almost didn't watch this video but I'm so glad that I did. Well done Chris, all of those pedals are magical and you can see why you've been so successful. That delay especially, and the germanium pre-amp could easily find its way on to my board someday methinks. Magical to see!
ОтветитьSuch a shame the amps are unobtainable
ОтветитьChris Benson seems like a good dude. I'm happy to support a builder making original designs already, but even more so when they're good people.
ОтветитьRighteous!
ОтветитьThey make great stuff, the mod 11 is a great modulation pedal, and the pitchfork is handy too.
ОтветитьThe only thing I wish you’d have had time for would be a little more on his amps. I know the drive is his pre-amp, but those things really are special. Love everything this man does. And you guys too, of course!
ОтветитьGreat video, best in a while! It's done nothing for my GAS and bank balance 🤔 The delay and stonk box are particularly joyous 😊
ОтветитьIf ever l needed heart surgery, l hope someone just like Chris was attending. Quietly masterful of his subject, and all possible avenues explored.
ОтветитьTHIS is the delay I want Chase Bliss to colab with Benson on for an Automatone series delay.
ОтветитьAll of it sounded great! The Florist kind of reminds me of the old DynaFlanger… and I dig it!
ОтветитьFuck me what a noise 🧐🤘😎🤯😍 Now, how do I find £10k..
ОтветитьWow that Florist sounds very interesting!
ОтветитьGreat episode. The Bellringer cleans reminded me of my Trainwreck Express clone. Beautiful sounds from el34s. The Dumble episode was also very similar to the experience people have playing my ‘wreck clone. Absolutely visceral, exposes every thing you do, but majestic when you can control it. Life changing tones. Mick, Epi DG335 update. I’ve had it for a couple months now. Exceptionally well built, feels amazing to play and just sounds so good. Sounds more ‘alive’ then my other 335. Really impressed with it and it’s made me want to play more which is a great change. It’s worth having a go on one if you come across one. Cheers
ОтветитьI think could have listened to you guys mess with the delay for two hours. Really stunning sounds out of that thing!
ОтветитьWow, Great show guys I love Benson pedals I own the preamp and the boost and now I will be purchasing your latest fuzz next week also you guys the playing was crazy good, great job always!
ОтветитьChris thanks so much great show. EL34 are such great tubes, cut my teeth on them back in college.
Thanks Mick & Dan!
For honest and raw drive and boost pedals Benson can't be beaten 👍
ОтветитьThe florist could easily be used a pitch shifter type pedal too hmm and a flanger this might be useful for me
ОтветитьSuper interesting episode(as always) Benson was under my radar until this episode!! Germanium boost(🤪), the Delay, the mk1/zonk, and the germanium preamps are all WOW! Thanks a lot.
ОтветитьThis ranks up there with the David Rainger episode as a profile of interesting and passionate device makers.
ОтветитьI feel like Mick and Dan have both become such killer players over the last few years - they were already great, but sheesh!
ОтветитьNice Black Bobbin hat!
ОтветитьNice touch with flipping the Bellringer text when it was 180deg out of phase 😂
ОтветитьNice one guys! The Benson Preamp was already great and the germanium one is even greaterer ;-)
Ответить@BlackBobbin nice hat!
ОтветитьDumb question. When talking about the stonk box you guys mention mark 1. Is that a tonebender mark 1?
ОтветитьGreat to see Chris on the show! Seeing all these pedals on one board reminds me how on fire Benson has been over the last couple years!
ОтветитьWow, one question please, is it possible to order a Delay pedal with external tap option?
ОтветитьSo sad that the Surfs Up is limited. We need that. Hopefully we can get a schematic soon
ОтветитьWhat a stellar human this guy Benson is!
ОтветитьDat Florist! 😮😍
ОтветитьReally enjoyed the brief demo of the Regnirlleb.
ОтветитьTime and again when I watch these builder videos it becomes clear that their most important skill may well be what and how they hear their products. It's such an ineffable thing, but you know it when you see it in someone else. Oh ... they GET it.
Ответитьvery smart bloke by the sounds of it.
ОтветитьI own old 100w Marshalls, and a Lion, and I must say the Lion using the Fryette Power Station as a power amp put through an old 4x12 with Blackbacks is a glorious thing, pretty authentic sound... and I'm a grumpy old purist!
ОтветитьCrucial BOTCH shirt.
ОтветитьVinnie reverb combo is the best small amp I’ve ever heard.
ОтветитьIf one wanted a REALLY tiny travelling amp solution (snd their friends and destinations all had speaker cabinets or PAs) is there a small POWER amp pedal that you could pair with one of these and just call it an amp?
ОтветитьI want tomake the Florist the new sound of country guitar for the next ten years. That was amazing.
Ответитьcan I order for the table , a Stonk, a Delay and a Florist please -- flipping heck 💜💜💜💜💜
Ответитьfor me i would say . everything those pedals do is add balls! beautiful sounds. Its like a pedal to whish off hte blanketness of an amp under volumed, as the modern day. I am sure with a full blown situation it sould be all you need and more. cool episode
ОтветитьI'm not even a pedal dude, I bought his preamp mkii now I want another one like germanium pedal pre or fuzz. I was just wondering if I can get close with my mkii set on germanium? I decrease the guitar volume on preamp or fuzz setting but it seems never to replicate what I hear
ОтветитьOld Town Music is a portal..
Ответитьi discover Benson because of mixwave plugin.
Fantastic amps and pedals
