new subscriber!! this video is awesome....I think I could even do some of the stuff you showed by myself!! the transformation is wonderful 👍😇
ОтветитьMy lawn is all weeds, bushes & trees
Ответить#1 no no according to every pro and anyone who's owned a home longer than 5yrs. NEVER EVER USE WEED BLOCK. It eventually will haunt you. Avoid the no dig landscape border, if you live somewhere it freezes, it loses its shape very quickly during the freeze/thaw cycle. Same with solar lights, if you live in the cold, just don't. Proper landscape lights, a transformer, and 50ft of low voltage line he wpuld have needed would have been $100 at most. As someone who has done everything he did in the past, save yourself the effort and do it right the first time. It will take twice as long and cost a bit more, but 2-3 years down the road when you aren't tearing it all out and redoing it, you'll thank yourself.
ОтветитьEverything came out beautiful!
ОтветитьGreat job
ОтветитьAwesome tips to get started. 👍
ОтветитьPro-tip Using rock instead of mulch is the best bang for your buck, buy once and using blower to remove leaves and junk in the beds. Less to maintain AND lasts many years over traditional mulch that typically needs to be place at min once a year. Especially the black mulch you used, because after about 1 year that black mulch turns gray, dull and just looks like garbage. Just a pro tip from someone who does this daily!
Another pro tip if you want to use weed barrier (which I typically don't) clear the area, first, lay down preen weed control, water, then lay fabric mesh down, then lay paver stones on top. Weeds tend to grow through the cracks of the weed fabric when any cracks and light comes through.
I typically don't use weed fabric, I lay down preen, lay down rocks and then use spot control roundup (or your choice) and spot kill any weeds that happen to make their way through.
Since rocks allow the weed control liquid to penetrate further down to and into the soil quickly for root contact.
Also using the rocks vs mulch and without fabric allows you to move them out the way and really kill any weeds without having to dig out the fabric and redo it. Just a waste of money in my pro opinion again I do this daily for clients.
Last tip if you want the stone pavers to stay in place use quickcrete fast setting concrete mix, put it down dry set your stones and then spray the entire thing down. The fast setting concrete will allow you to keep those stones in place much longer especially around trees and along longer bed runs where you visually will notice a difference in the ground elevation.
Otherwise nicely done!
Nice tips, I live in Indiana too, I just do not like landscape fabric/weed barrier, it prevents nutrients to get down to the plants that you want to grow, and also does not prevent weeds because they will still grow through it or on it.
ОтветитьVery nice.
ОтветитьIt was really nice.
Ответитьwhat is up with those gaps in the pavers around the tree??? 🤣
Ответитьtelephone pole tree. a bit of me just died.
ОтветитьGreat job
ОтветитьLove this diy.
ОтветитьI think mulching the mailbox was a bit much. Everything else looked great though.
ОтветитьAsk your arborist about a garden around your tree base. Save you a tree, might last 5 years before the tree starts signs of dying
ОтветитьThat’s nice transformation
ОтветитьI love this video! Absolutely great work! 👏🏻 we will do this too 🤗
ОтветитьDid you use concrete and mortar with your brick edging?
ОтветитьI love this!
ОтветитьDude, you do awesome work, great job, but please please please wear safety equipment when working, no bare foot pressure washing, eye protection and maybe some boots when using powered tools and equipment.
ОтветитьI e watched a few of these type of how to videos researching what I have to do to make this work but I am
Wondering why allowance for the trees growth isn’t a factor the trees will expand across the circumference of the edging over time why wouldn’t you extend it out more
Those walls look pretty bad
ОтветитьI would have pressure washed after the yard work
Ответитьi love love this guy! what a great job, i really like how simple and to the point the explanations are! i am subscribing!!
Ответитьupdate???????????????
ОтветитьThe reason why those concrete pavers looked so uneven is because they weren't placed on a properly prepared base, by placing them straight onto the dirt you're just going to have the same problem in a few years time. Do it nice or do it twice.
You also shouldn't place mulch right up on the base of the trees.
Sorry, but maybe research this stuff before making a video.
Thanks. Good video. I gave a like right when you layed out all the stones and washed. I wouldn't lol😅
ОтветитьWhich power wash and where to buy?
Ответить🎉🎉🎉
ОтветитьYou shouldn't preasure wash vinyl siding because it gets behind it too easily!
ОтветитьWell done.
ОтветитьWhere do you dispose the old mulch and dirt?
Ответить. .. schizo. . . ?

Ugh, trying to find good diy videos is hard. I see right from the beginning he doesn't put any base under the stones. They'll end up looking just the same. Next
ОтветитьPlanting tip for shrubs and trees. Buy a bag if the cheapest cat litter. It’s clay. Put it in the hole before you set the plant. It holds water near the roots. Saw it on tv and it works great.
ОтветитьThis is exactly what im looking for. Thank you
ОтветитьMy dads a big sawzall guy!
ОтветитьYou should of painted them stones. I did mine for my walk in white and used black mulch to surround them and man does it pop now!!
ОтветитьThumb up tips, thanks! Rudi.
ОтветитьYay I heard Indiana and immediately subscribed. Hello fellow Hoosier! Doing lots of work in the yard this summer, thanks for the tips!
ОтветитьGood job man. I'm from the hood and never owned anything more than a car, now I own a house for the first time. I will be taking initiative to improve my curb appeal as well.
ОтветитьAmerican gardens are so sad... there is nothing but grass and a few tiny bushes. Ecological desert :(
ОтветитьLooks great!
ОтветитьI love your knowledge , professionalism and imagination to created beautiful landscaping...
ОтветитьThe obligatory fiskars tools makes life easier... 😅
ОтветитьI use lanterna where the glass has broken but frame intact, as a plant hanger. Put a small pot inside that fits & then a plant. I like to use climbing plats. I hang it up & let the plant grow down out from it.. looks really nice! And I get some use of that broken lantern..
