hey i came across ur video looking for this answer lol; i am doing IR/CSIRT as a 3 YOE working as cyber security consultant at a big4 straight out of college. i be honest my networking is bunch of bullshit/weak and I focus as a SIEM engineer I guess for clients?
My question is: Do u recommend studying for CCNA to get a strong , generic network foundation for cybersecurity BUT do not take the exam? Or if u know a better resource to undersatnd networking at a deeper level. I have 0 intent to actually buy the cert because it just seems too stressful for me lol. I would like a deeper network foundation than the basics of what Network+ teaches I guess.
thanks mate
Heyy I am Dyavanapelli Sujal , currently pursuing my engineering in computer science . I am in 2nd year of my graduation . I have got a strong foundation of networking and linux but I haven't done any certifications though . As a second year engineering student should I need to get my certification to get a internship as a network engineer or system administrator?? Or do the certification after my graduation.
ОтветитьShould I do CCNA or AWS
Is CCNA good in upcoming years....I heard AWS is growing
So what is your suggestion?
hey Gerard, this is Sai from India currently I'm doing my bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity engineering (1st year). I don't really have much knowledge .I studied basics of networks in my school, can I take CCNA as my first step into this ?? or is there anything that you would suggest to me
ОтветитьThere’s a lot of ai developers telling the world most white collar jobs will be automated in the next five years. Do I begin this journey today if in three years when I’ve cut my teeth on help desk, and am ready to start my first Network Engineer job, I find most elements aside from setting up the hardware have been automated. A lot of effort to put in the evenings after working at my current job for potentially no gain. Do people in the field talk about what’s coming with ai? In all seriousness wouldn’t be more beneficial to train to be an electrician in this day and age?
ОтветитьHi ,Can I get any role in Cloud just After Pursuing Bachelor of engineering
ОтветитьBest of luck for everyone. Get into your first role and get your CCNP asap. It will open a lot more doors.
Ответитьknowing networking is good to have but to get a high paying job you will need other skills besides networking such as software ( java) and microsoft as well ...these technology keeps changing and schooling will be required more than ofthen.
ОтветитьHey hi. I dont have degree but have basic knowledge regarding networks. Is this certificate gonna help me?
ОтветитьI have a degree on humanities. No tech background. Currently preparing for CCNA certification. Will there be jobs for me?
ОтветитьI am a Telecommunications Engineering student and I am in my final year. I have summer vacations of 3 months and I was aiming for CCNA but I came across many videos and posts that it is not worth it. I found your video in the process of searching for more information on this. I am still not sure about it and I want your advice on whether to pursue it or not?
ОтветитьLol! Those job ads that mention CCNA, CCNP or CCIE in the same paragraph as required are crazy! Which do they want? As a corporate network veteran of 10 years you have to question whether these HR departments or the recruiting manager have literally ANY idea about either the candidate they want or the job requirements - because there is a HUGE gulf in knowledge and experience between someone at CCNA level to a CCIE certified person. The latter being the knowledge backbone of a highly complex corporate network support team, or an architect. Seriously, you would never appoint a CCNA to a level 3 job unless they had vast equivalent PROVEN experience to a CCIE, and you would have to question why a CCIE would want an entry level CCNA or even CCNP role. This sort of job spec nonsense makes me laugh and despair in equal measures! 🤦
ОтветитьIf people are saying that the CCNA route isn't particularly worth going into, are there any different platforms/skillsets that they recommend someone to explore that is not Cisco related but requires about the same level of effort and brainpower as getting a CCNA/CCNP?
ОтветитьIs ccna a good option for someone aiming to go into cyber security space
ОтветитьHii Mr.Gerard Hope this comment finds well as u mentione cloud and network are separate domains as i kick start my carrier as a network engineer or system administrator yeah i am talking non coding work it is worth in future carrier opportunities and if u have time please clear me with real example difference with cloud vs CCNA,CCNP certifications
ОтветитьIs this certification only for network engineers?s
I am an architectural engineer, but I love technology specialties and enjoy learning them. Can it benefit me
?
i took David bombal CCNA i have completed that course and did a lot of labs,my question is it necessary that i need to attend the exam because that cost of it too high according top our currency or should i do any help desk IT job and after i can atttend it
and other thing is that official cert guides are necessary or should i choose cisco docs for more information

ОтветитьI want to pursue my career in cybersecurity, So does getting CCNA Certification help me taking the first step?
ОтветитьI just passed the Security Plus, last month. Is it recommended to take the CCNA? Or, what that be considered a "step backwards"?
ОтветитьHi Gerard, thanks for your motivational videos. Can you become a succsseful network administrator by learning and passing CCNA, when you actually have only a very basic knowledge with pc and it in general. Thank you.
Ответитьmy CCNA was done, pursuing CCNP encor, and CCNP Enterprise.
ОтветитьDoesn't matter what role you're applying for CCNA is a measure of a minimum standard requiring commitment and hard work. CCNA might not get you that job but it certainly raises your profile.
ОтветитьHey Iam a fresher, can you please suggest me some entry level certifications in networking and security fundamentals that helps me in gaining some knowledge and also has got some value. And how tough is CCNA in an average what is the preparation time?
ОтветитьHow long would the CCNA take to complete from a entry level personal standpoint?
Ответитьsomalia is number1
ОтветитьThank you so much!
ОтветитьThe open university does an Msc Computing (Networking) using Cisco
ОтветитьHi Herard. Where did you buy your books from?
ОтветитьHi, I want to start my Cloud Computing Journey, I only have experience in Computer Science/IT during AS-Levels, but now I am in year 13 and now don't remember much - would you recommend me to start with Cisco CCNA to start my Cloud Journey?
ОтветитьI got my Ccna on last month but am struggling to get a job.
ОтветитьI am telecom engineer with 15 years of experience managing global infraestructures. I decidec to skip CCNA and took CCNP furtunatly I passed both exams, now I have CCNP Enterprise certification. Regards from Mexico city.
ОтветитьDid my CCNA first and then Network Engineering cert. On Alison
Is it good?
Most certs are useless without the experience. I have 2 years experience in the networking industry and the only reason I'm taking the CCNA is because of my experience.
ОтветитьThere's no way people can remember all the steps for each of the labs step by step its crazy. For each module There's like 4 plus labs and that's just for one section under a topic eveything can't come on the exams and learning all the steps for all the lab is too much
ОтветитьHey sir i am from canada and my background is Electronics and communication engineering i have Cisco and ccna certificate now what should i do another course that help my further career??
ОтветитьThis was the best video on this topic. Very informative. and to the point. Thank you man
ОтветитьCCNP first?
ОтветитьHello....is it worth it starting ccna without any knowledge abt IT....just with my high school certificate
ОтветитьPlease stop doing the CCNA!! Make it easier for the rest of us who actually know what we're talking about. 😂
