I actually heard the taxi driver had died.  What a relief to see this video!  When they showed it on the tv news, they stopped short of the driver getting out.

That is an amazing pilot. I was wondering why in the dashcam vid the plane banked. Now I see it was too hit the water and soften the landing. That's a hard one to stick.

Aqui dicen que el piloto salvo varios pasajeros, pero no entiendo la explicacion. Segun el video el avion viene cayendo con las alas en horizontal pero al ultimo instante el piloto inclina la nave. Que ventaja tiene esa inclinacion cuando ya faltan pocos metros para pasar el puente? Creo que en avion hubiera podido acuatizar mas facil y suave sin estar inclinado. Alguien  puede explicar?

All you people arguing about weather the taxi driver was lucky or not are dumb. There's no such thing as luck. If a person who was considered lucky and a person who was considered unlucky are in the same exact situation their both going to come out the same. It's fate not luck, that's just the way things were going to happen on that day. Just say the guy was fortunate.

People, I am an airline pilot. When this turboprop airplane had his second engine shutdown, the airplane begins to veer to the left because the left wing lost lift and stalled before the right wing. When the wings is stalled the airplane becomes unmaneuverable so the pilot is not actually steering the airplane anymore and the plane is just going where it wants to go. So, hold your hat on because it appears the pilot failed to recognize the failed engine and ended up shutting down the good engine. Let's wait for the final investigation.

It's stupid how they ask the taxi driver for questions if the only thing that happened was the plane wing hitting is taxi...why won't they ask the people who survived the plane crash.

No, if he was actually lucky he would not have been hit at all. At best he is lucky to be alive and uninjured.

you see that cab driver after he got out of his car? you can see his hands shaking. i can not even to begin what emotions i would go thru after having a PLANE HIT MY CAR!!!!

The Taxi driver was very unlucky to have been in so dangerous accident. He is very lucky to missed being sliced. God blesses the souls who loss their lives. My deepest condolences to all the families who loss their loves one. What happened to this Plane?

I mean, literally every other taxi driver in the world didn't get hit by a plane that day, so were probably luckier overall.

How bad luck you can have, struck by a plane's wing tip. What an incompetent pilot, has shut down the only working engine. My condolences to the relatives.

No, the pilots committed a terrible error. #2 engine failed on takeoff climbout, and the crew did not immediately diagnose that and communicate it clearly. The Pilot then shut down the good #1 engine, and the aircraft stalled and crashed.

Not lucky when he lost his taxi which is his way of living, got traumatized, governement/company didnt compensate him and suffered survivor's guilt.
