They have wonderful bed and Breakfast that are great to stay at. Been on the paddle boat many times. I have many antiques from the stores. I live close to there. The history is so interesting. I use to own a bar and I had tunnels in the basement. It was from bootlegging. I had them sealed.
ОтветитьThanks for doing a great job with our town, Stillwater. :)
ОтветитьIt's all all corporate shops it used to be local owned shops etc greed took over made it all wokiewaters
ОтветитьCool vid but no Stillwater bridge talk? Listed on the national register of historic places and a main draw to the area.
Ответить❤Minnesota
ОтветитьWhat fun to see towns featured that are near me!! Loved it!
ОтветитьStillwater is a wonderful place, have visited many times, as it’s only 45 min from my hometown. Great views, we used to do lots of photography in the area. Leo’s downtown is great for a milkshake, hope you stopped in. I also lived in Forrest Lake and the Wyoming MN area. Flake as we call it, nice town with the big lake in the center of town with large homes on it. Just found your channel, will be back for more. Thanks again guys.
ОтветитьLove Stillwater! Best Mexican restaurant (Nacho Mama) and fun shops. I live in Apple Valley and go there frequently. Nice work!
ОтветитьI was just there this last weekend. My family came to Hudson, Wisconsin in 1849 which is just a mile down the St. Croix.
ОтветитьNice to see you visiting Minnesota. I live in Duluth.
ОтветитьWATER STREET Inn, not Street Water Inn. And if you didn’t go there, you missed the chance to dine and imbibe at the longest continuously running pub in Minnesota! Charlie’s Irish Pub was opened in 1890 and is still running. Good food and a wide selection of Minnesota beers and spirits are worth the trip. So is the live music every weekend, and many of the bands that play there have become personal friends of ours. Bonus, the current owner is also a Charles, but he goes by Chuck.
ОтветитьJust come across this, coincidentally, I'm going to The Velveteen in Stillwater tonight
ОтветитьBirthplace of Minnesota caught my eye. Just so happens my birth certificate says i was born there but grew up in Eagan. Nice Video
ОтветитьI was born in Stillwater and grew up there my whole life. It’s a tourist town during the summer and quiet in the winter. Safe and beautiful place to live.
ОтветитьThanks for bringing up fond memories of my youth! I was born just down the road in Hudson, WI and my grandparents lived in Houlton for a while. Been on that famous lift bridge many times!!! Stillwater is a beautiful place!
ОтветитьI love this video!
ОтветитьStillwater had been gentrified. The cool little shops with antiques and toys and dive bars are leaving and gone. Being replaced by expensive hoighty toighty restaurants and shops and condos. It’s a busy town so some people like it. Not me anymore.
ОтветитьGee i have lived in minnesota for 71 years and never visted stillwater
ОтветитьThanks brother Jeff for taking me places I won't ever get to go. So thanks for taking me along with you. I love your hard work you and you're wife do besafe God Bless.
ОтветитьI enjoy your videos so much. I was born and raised in Rome, Georgia. Would love seeing you do a history Hunter video of my hometown. It’s a beautiful town.
ОтветитьLooks like a lovely part of the country to go to and see
ОтветитьStillwater is beautiful
ОтветитьHi Jeff and Sarah thank you for another great video and for sharing Sarah family history. Looking forward to seeing your next video. Have a blessed day love and blessings Larry June and Laurie
ОтветитьMy wife and I have a daughter in Minneapolis and she suggested we visit Stillwater. We found it as charming as you did but I didn't realize it was the oldest city in the state, interesting. Also walked around the town but I'm surprised I don't remember the courthouse.
We happen to be in Duluth for a long weekend. If you've never been, I highly recommend it.
👍😎🇨🇦
ОтветитьIf you liked stillwater you shoulda driven a bit further and checked out towns like taylors falls, st croix falls, marine on st croix, and osceola
ОтветитьHave been through and too Stillwater many times having lived not far. It's wonderful 😊
ОтветитьAlthough I live 12 miles from Stillwater, the video was entertaining and educational. And I was surprised when you mentioned the Younger brothers buried in Lees Summit, MO, close to where my sister lives. It is nice to know the places you mention.
ОтветитьLoved the video! Didn’t know anything about this !! Beautiful and Sweet little town ! Great video
ОтветитьMeisters in Scandia has excellent burgers!
ОтветитьI love watching Sarah with animals. Did she ever consider a career with them? A vet? Zoo keeper?
ОтветитьI live in Stillwater. Love it here! For a little bit of trivia, Jessica Lang & Sam Shepherd raised most of their kids here!
ОтветитьI love Stillwater, and it's just a half hour drive from where I live. I think I'm being called to visit again! Thanks for this charming video.
ОтветитьI live 30 mins. east of Stillwater in Star Prairie WI. We LOVE Stillwater. Lost count of how many times we have been there, or just drove through in the past 30 years.
ОтветитьIt's a cute little town
ОтветитьThose who know 💀💀💀
ОтветитьThere were two manufacturing buildings that were left at the territorial site that were burned by arson in 2002.
ОтветитьThanks for the history lesson, I was born in Stillwater and didn’t realize how cool of a story Stillwater had.
ОтветитьDrove through Still water for 38 years when I worked at Anderson Windows . Great town 👍🏻🇺🇸🙏🏻
ОтветитьFunny coincidence - I lived on Big Carnelian Lake during my last few years in high school, and I actually lived in that multi-million dollar house you photographed. I sure let out a huge laugh when I saw it in this video! I haven't been anywhere near it for years because my stepmother and father split a long time ago, and she was the one who owned it.
Watching this video was a delightful smack of nostalgia. I used to bike from Big Carnelian Lake to downtown Stillwater all the time, which was quite the commute. It was such a gorgeous little area from the riverside to the old-fashioned shops to the Victorian homes, I didn't quite understand how beautiful of an area I lived in until I moved away. During the wintertime I would take long walks all over Big Carnelian Lake - it was always a bit frightful to hear the ice creek under you!
Great video, thank you for this!
Very interesting. Very beautiful. And very informative.
Thanks for sharing!
I was surprised by the home prices. I had thought that the multi million dollar homes only existed on the coasts.
It is a place you should see if you are in or come to Minnesota. It is a beautiful place, and yes it is a tourist town
ОтветитьAm thinking of taking a bike ride to Stillwater this Summer; looks worth the attempt.
ОтветитьBorn here and still do reside here for most of my 66 y/o life. It was interesting to hear we had the largest opera house west of chicago. Grew up watching many movies there and still recall the grandness of the building. It's a shame it was torn, it was stunning. Fun to see what the city looked like when it was very young with many houses still recognizable.
ОтветитьI was born in Stillwater. I still live here. I drive the trolley and give narrated tours of the town. It's changed quite a bit since you've been here, like adding the Plaza where the olde bridge is....
ОтветитьVery neat hearing about Sarah and her family.
