Hsi Lai Temple 2024 Lunar New Year Lanterns

For the year of the Dragon 2024, Fo Guang Shan Hsi Lai Temple is ready to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

Starting the evening of February 9th, the temple will bid farewell to the old year with a Lunar New Year’s Eve Dharma Service, along with various cultural and folk activities; such as, the "Joyful Dragon" Lantern Festival, Homage to Thousand Buddhas’ Dharma Service, and many festive cultural performances. These events are in place to welcome springtime and to bring blessings to the people of Southern California.

Everyone is invited to ring the peace bell, light lanterns, visit the wishing tree, and offer prayers during this festive period. Peace incense will be distributed, and it is our utmost sincere wish that each visitor feels warmly welcomed and enjoys experiencing the Chinese culture, savory festive snacks, and all the exciting celebratory cultural performances at Hsi Lai Temple.

Parking Advisory
To alleviate the crowd during the Lunar New Year, shuttle buses will be provided from Puente Hills Mall parking lot on weekends and Lunar 15th Lantern Festival (February 10, 11, 17, 18, 24). The Puente Hills Mall parking lot offers around 1,000 parking spaces, and the shuttle service is free of charge. The temple is open from 8 am to 8 pm on weekends, and from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays.
