I’m surprised Mr. wizard didn’t know to open a banana from the bottom. Any monkey knows that’s the easiest way.
ОтветитьWhen Gen X parents talk about the their favorite baby sitter when the got home from school. That is Mr. Wizard.
ОтветитьCrazy he was only 39 here
ОтветитьMr. Wizard got into big trouble when he showed Scott another fun trick with a banana. ;)
ОтветитьAs a kid this was a gem to watch but as an adult. I must say this was boring and dry lol!
ОтветитьSurrenderDorothy anyone?👀
ОтветитьThat’s me. Mr wizard fed me his banana afterwards. That jerk 😊
ОтветитьI remember this and doing it to trick my mom. Memories.
ОтветитьYeah, just sew this banana 🤦♂️ Your friends will be amazed!
ОтветитьOmg, such nostalgia.
ОтветитьCore memory unlocked!!! 😊😊
ОтветитьWho would have thought that the banana would be touted as a unit of measurement within 40 years of this show?
ОтветитьThis is the one thing I remember from this show
ОтветитьYes!! This is a classic! I remember seeing this when i was a kid and doing this trick!
ОтветитьWho uses a plate to eat a banana lol 😂😂😂😅😅😅😅😂😂
ОтветитьYou can do this with just the needle and one hole per slice, moving it back and forth to make the cut.
ОтветитьI learned this trick from Shari Lewis's TV special "You Can Do It." The method she used was without thread. You need a long needle, and you stick the needle into the skin, until it touches the inside of the skin on the other side. Then you sweep the needle back and forth, cutting the banana with the needle itself. Then repeat for the other slices. You can't do a lengthwise slice that way, though. 🍌
ОтветитьHey Ray, you like bananas? Here, take mine..................proceeds to hand him a banana with obvious black lines around it giving away the trick instantly.
ОтветитьBack in the day I dead ass thought he was captain picade/professor X 😭😭😭he ant even bald lol
ОтветитьI think anyone who remembers Mr. Wizard is automatically vaulted out of the "millennial" label. We're Generation W, and our symbol is the LIGHTNING BOLT.
ОтветитьI remember getting to watch Mr. Wizard as a kid and dreamed of being able to have the resources to emulate the experiments and demonstrations that he did. And now it makes me sad, thinking that I was too poor to have bananas or sewing needles.
ОтветитьMy dad showed this to me, and so when I was probably 11 I did this to a bunch of bananas before school to prank my mates at lunch. That was 4 hours later, so the holes were all black, and they got squished in my lunch box, so there was banana gunk oozing out of the little holes. No one wanted to eat them. It was sad.
ОтветитьI remember this from when I was a kid! Mr. Wizard was the best! I am so excited to share this and more with my kids!
ОтветитьThat is a clever prank but an amazing trick.
ОтветитьI was hoping for the the banana in a tailpipe trick, made famous by one Axel Foley.
ОтветитьI have no idea how this is done. Mr. Wizard would scream at me! I STILL don't understand.
ОтветитьStill this video's are available on internet
ОтветитьIt's really amazing
ОтветитьMy Dad used to watch this show in the 80's. The 1980's.
ОтветитьThis is one of the few segments that I can remember.
ОтветитьMr wizard performing life hacks before they were hacks.
Ответитьsesh
Ответить"kind-of-a-trickrIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIght?"
ОтветитьThat son of a gun!
ОтветитьWhy don’t we see this type of production on TV today?
ОтветитьAfter seeing this episode when it first aired I did this trick so many times that my mother had to hide her sewing kits.
ahhh good times.
Justin Mcelroy sent me here
ОтветитьThat kid seemed to excited when he said he really liked bananas
ОтветитьI did this with an orange and got perfect slices. Lol.
ОтветитьOmg, I saw this when it was new and over the years I’ve tried to redo it and it never came out right.
Ответить"Kind of a trick reeeiiight"
ОтветитьHe was my great great uncle
Ответитьthis kid sounded a little to excited when he said he really likes bananas
ОтветитьHe could have suggested staggering the entry/exit hole locations to appear more randomized so his trickery would remain a mystery... Mr. Wizard critiqued his technique just like one of my vet school surgery instructors! Lol!
ОтветитьWhatCouldPossiblyGoWrong?
ОтветитьMr. Wizard: "Hey kid, I had 56 bombing runs as a B-24 pilot from Italy with the 767th Bomb Squadron, 461st Bomb Group of the Fifteenth Air Force during WW II!"
Kid: "WTF?"
Mr. Wizard: "Do you like bananas?"
i remember seing this one in the 80's....
ОтветитьLol a "messy lengthwise sliced banana".
ОтветитьThis was one of my favorite shows as a kid after school or at the butt-crack-of-dawn when Nick-at-Night turned back to regular Nickelodeon. Good memories from randomly coming upon this clip.
