Love & Peace: The Bittersweet Optimism Of Vash The Stampede

Trigun is an anime about Vash the Stampede, a goofy, compassionate and hopeful gunman in the harsh world of Gunsmoke; a desert-like planet on which resources are scarce and a sixty-billion dollar bounty exists on his head. Known as the Humanoid Typhoon, Vash offers an interesting take on the standard anime protagonist.

So today, we'll be discussing the optimism that makes his character so memorable as well as why that optimism can leave a bittersweet feeling behind. This only covers Trigun and not Badlands Rumble, because I haven't seen it lmao. In terms of 90s anime, this one also flies somewhat under the radar while also having a pretty dedicated fanbase.
