Why don't we use more floating buzz baits? Lots of reasons. Some don't float particularly well... Some have hard bodies and feature trailing hooks that don't find the fish's mouth... Some have bottom-hanging treble hooks that dig into everything the lure touches. Hookup ratios can present a challenge, and many don't run in a truly weedless way.

Converting a medium/large topwater frog to a buzzbait solves almost all of those issues. This mod allows you to experiment with pretty much any frog you want without changing/damaging the frog, itself. By investing just a few dollars in tools an materials, you can completely change the presentation of your favorite topwater frogs, make a ton of noise, and still know you have the ability to pause in your retrieve without snagging every piece of grass in the area.
