Well small shops have been getting run out for a very long time now, my dad ran a feed and seed and I worked with him. Tractor supply and Walmart priced us out of business. The store had been in business since 1919 as a gas station and then as a feed and seed since the 70s. Between Carter and Reagan and just the American style of get big or get out it killed us. I loved that job more than any other job I’ve ever had, I got to talk to people all day, learn, teach, raise animals, and generally provide for my community. I’ve never had a job wheee I felt I was directly impacting my community since then. Support your mom and pop shops, we love to see you and we love building community. We are animals built on community, don’t let the big guys take that too.
Ответитьthis is just pure art! Thank you
ОтветитьSupport your local businesses!
ОтветитьNice video. Seen a few of yours, but this has earned my subscription.
ОтветитьThe second half of this video was the best part. I don't know if I could negotiate with that tactic. I may need to make a subsequent purchase or have maintenance done.
ОтветитьYou all are too good! 😊
ОтветитьI was planning on buying a bike from a dealership but after seeing this never mind 😭😭
ОтветитьIncredible video
ОтветитьFor Your Consideration: 2024 Addy Awards, Canadian
ОтветитьThis hits me in the feels. I bought my first motorcycle from a mom and pop shop in Vegas that’s since closed, due to the bigger mainstream shops stomping them out. They never upsold, made an offer that kept them afloat; and that was it. Such a shame those small shops are closing down.
ОтветитьIt goes both ways. I've been on the receiving end of bastard dealerships as a green customer. Learned my lessons over the years... and paid for them. COVID era was especially nasty... everyone was price-gouging like it's hunting season.
ОтветитьBreak the big salesman’s heart, shop around
Ответитьgood advice for any large purchase !
Ответитьwhat a masterful and beautiful outro. Thany you.
ОтветитьLoved the outro scene!
ОтветитьThis crew always surprises with great info, entertainment, raw science. Fantastic!
ОтветитьLovely. Just. . . Lovely
ОтветитьThe cinematography was better than a Hollywood production. Just wish it was longer.
ОтветитьThat end makes me feel sad. My life and lifestyle are slipping away.
ОтветитьI knew the thumbnail was AI. He looks like the perfect grumpy old man.
ОтветитьMan, you make videos like no other!
ОтветитьThis is such a wholesome video! The ending was so heartfelt, great job!
ОтветитьProbably the best video I have seen in a while.... .....that ending. So beautiful... ....and so sad at the same time.
ОтветитьWhat a crazy world away this is from the mega dealer down the way from me.
ОтветитьRoyal Enfield 😬😬😬😬
ОтветитьI’m tired of these stealerships filling their shops with ATVs, boats and everything BUT motorcycles. They’re “power sports “ shops now! 😡🤬
Ответитьthat ending shot was freakin fantastic...
ОтветитьTaht is a very nice video
Ответитьthis deserves way more views
Ответитьthat ending was beautiful . good work !
ОтветитьThis has got to be the WORST EU negotiation tactic to ever be promoted XD
Yhea you can do that on second hand bikes. You aint gone get a lot off in most of the EU. Most countries here don't haggle. Prices are fixed. They rather have it stay there for a year and lower it a few 100€ then give it to you at that price a year before.
1. Over here, they HATE it when you need a loan. They will tell you to go to the bank. Dealers here rarely do loans.
2. The ppl that sell gear are not the ones that sell the bikes over here. And if they do it is piss poor selection of gear. Like 10 gloves and a few helmets and no bikes or jackets.
3. Yes they have a garage so that could work, but they already expect you to do that as they give discounts on the service some times. Not the bike.
4. Trade-ins don't change the price of the bike. In fact, they will price the bike you "trade in" as fare less valuable then it is. Making it that if you trade it in. They make a killing on it. BAD tactic to do over here. They will offend if the price is wrong. salesmen in the US and Canada are NOTHING like the sales ppl in the EU.
5. You switch bikes? All negotiations you did before are gone. They don't apply anymore as it's a other bike, different price.
How to rip off a stealership: go to the locally owned one and be honest.
Ngl. The video itself took me for a ride. Well played.
wish i had a place like this in my area, buy a used bike. Locally all i have are large dealerships
ОтветитьOur local car dealer has a great business model. The charge a fixed mark up on every car and happy to show you the sales receipt from pervious owner so you know you don't get ripped off. In fact our last two cars were bought and subsequently sold to him and I checked his selling price. 100% honest. He turns over a lot of stock as people are changing cars more often and sticking to same dealer.
ОтветитьThe fact that most shops don’t carry parts frustrates me…the fact that mom and pop shops are disappearing kills me
ОтветитьI've never understood why people expect discounts for paying in cash. Both the salesman and the dealership make money from finance, so there's more room to negotiate and you can keep the cash for emergencies/upgrades.
ОтветитьWhen buying a motorcycle or car, treat every part as a separate negotiation. If you have a trade-in, that should have nothing to do with the sale price of the new motorcycle. The financing rate should have nothing to do with the motorcycle. I always tell them I'm getting my own financing from a credit union to take that bullet out of the chamber. I always go in knowing that I'll get a bad deal on the trade-in but it's the price to pay for not having to sell it myself. But sale price is war and I'm not going to fall for the dealer's stupid tricks. And never forget the power of walking away. Last time I bought a bike I walked out of the sales office and said, maybe I'll be back, just to set the tone. I came back a week later and worked out a deal that was to my advantage. Also, I told them if they try to add in a bunch of costs in the paperwork signing process, I won't sign and I'll walk. I think dealers think that once it gets to that point, we're not going to walk. Always be ready to walk. Also, I go in and tell them right off the bat that I won't be paying any dealer markups over MSRP and I won't be paying their stuped, arbitrary freight and assembly fees. If they don't like it, I walk. Sensing a theme here? Walking out of stealership is like having bear spray, it's not enough to have it, you have to want to use it and have your finger on the trigger.
ОтветитьI had a good motorcycle shop/used dealer very close to me a few years ago. Unfortunately covid regulations killed the business so I've had to learn how to do more of my own maintenance. I only ride bikes that are easy to work on now.
Ответитьno deer were harmed in the making of this video.
Deer (registerd Trademark) is a paid actor and therefore has been paid to say any and all words present.
I came here to bargain, not to feel. Curse you and your tear-jerking content, you monsters.
ОтветитьI just call around 8 different dealerships, don’t care about the distance, for the same bike, say give me your best otd price and then just make return phone calls over and over till they’ve beat each other down till one taps. Usually you know you’re getting a good deal when they start to sound incredibly pissed off. Call me a bastard but I’m not in the business of giving away my hard earned money to stealerships. I’m not talking about mom and pops I’m talking the big dealerships that change hands regularly anyway. Screw em. I’ve yet to pay even msrp for a single bike except my Ducati.
ОтветитьI just give local dearships asking price. They make small margins anyways. I don't care about bastard haggling for 3k. Just pay the price and ride home.
ОтветитьAppreciated the candor, earned my sub!
ОтветитьKen changed my oil just three months ago! Seeing the video thumbnail shocked me. This is a great dealership for Van Isle residents.
ОтветитьI feel all warm and fuzzy now, like i just watched a hallmark made-for-tv movie.
ОтветитьKudos for an excellent production!
ОтветитьCorporatism is crushing the soul that used to come with this game and it’s sad - we all know it used to be better. I hope these guys stay open forever, and more people open. Small business and competition are what made these two wheeled machines so accessible to the public once upon a time. Now they are fast becoming another rich man’s toy, and I think we have enough of those
Ответитьgoddammit, that's such a heartwarming conversation about eating garlic
ОтветитьThe Bastard Ryan arrived on a ducati
