This set starts with an air, Ceol an Phíobaire, which Eamonn Ceannt, the piper and revolutionary who was executed after the 1916 Rising, referenced in his first edition of An Píobaire, the journal he published as a founding member of Cumann na bPíóbairí (The Pipers Club).
The second piece is Festus Burke by Turlough O'Carolan’s, the blind Irish harper (1670-1738) composer and singer who has left Irish and indeed world harpists with a legacy of wonderful music.
Thank you to Cairde na Cruite for inviting me to play along side a number of wonderful harpers at the Pearse Museum as part of the Annual International Harp Day!
