Great tip with the bottle jack! Thank you.
ОтветитьAwesome detailed video man love it!
ОтветитьAwesome job Justin! Boom more Jeeps :-)
ОтветитьHey Justin another great video!! I stopped by the shop a couple of weeks ago.. Your buddy that is a head fabricator for a local shop that works on high end vehicles was “borrowing” some titanium pieces for McLaren he was working on. Long story sorry but I just wanted to make sure I can get on the Jeep list for the frame repair in my 01’ Sahara.. I have everything from Safe T Cap at my house.. I also sent you an email today.. I understand there’s a 2 month lag time due to how busy you are I just want to get on the list.... keep the Jeep videos coming.. thanks
ОтветитьIf a spring compressor is available, couldn’t this be used as well? Or is there insufficient room?
ОтветитьAre the jeep tires 31,10.50,15? New to Jeep’s I just bought one I may do this 2.5” lift kit.
ОтветитьDid you have a problem with rear pinion angle after the lift? And spring bowing in the front as well
ОтветитьHow do you replace those front control arm bracket on the jeep. I got one that’s bad
Ответитьlol a bottle jack to drop the axle??? That is so ghetto!!!!! Such a great hack though i love it!!!!!
ОтветитьI put that lift kit in as you said and now i have vibration ! help
ОтветитьWouldn’t a spring compressor and make that easier?
ОтветитьWouldn’t a spring compressor make that easier?
ОтветитьNo bump stops in the rear?
ОтветитьThat is some nasty rust.
Ответить1-1/2 hours to change 4 springs and shocks on the driveway at home done it 3 times now 1-1/2 hours is the worst time it took
ОтветитьYou said you don’t need track bars but my Jeep feels looks like rear end is sticking out more the passenger side than the driver side
Ответитьquit being cheap! Get some fluid film on that frame and inside of it!
ОтветитьFirst of all You forgot to install new Bumpstop in the rear of that TJ & a lot easier than that bottle jack trick is to use a proper coil spring compression tool. That's what I use for both of my 2 TJs & I bought it for about $75 CND @ Princess Auto & it served me well on all my vehicles & makes it pretty much effortless. Also it is better for keeping the Geometrie of the drive train to get a lift kit that includes extended length swayer links & adjustable front differential stabilizer.
ОтветитьDid you stock spring isolators in the front work with the new springs? I just bought a kit for my 2000 Wrangler and the isolators do not fit
ОтветитьCan you run a 33 tire with this lift?
ОтветитьMine needed front and rear track bars, and I also need the fix the driveline angle due to the vibration I have now
Ответитьgreat suggestion for these TJs given you have to drop transfer case and add anything else to the suspension! Thank you!
ОтветитьAwesome video man I appreciate the tricks that make it a little easier!
Ответитьdid you loosen the front control arm bolts as well?
ОтветитьThis guy is a legend. Deserves a free tripod as well. Thank you so much for doing this it was very clear and precise.
ОтветитьLet me for warn anyone and everyone that is doing this lift on their own. If you don't have a lift and you're using a jack and jack stands. Definitely go rent a spring compressor from your local auto part store and Definitely get ready for the rear upper shock bolts to break and that will be your biggest time consumer! Other then that I just finished up this lift in about 3 1/2 hours!👌👍 love it so far!
ОтветитьWhy didn’t you put in new Bumpstops?
ОтветитьBecause they seriously kick ass! Quality vehical! When you put money into these, you don't loose! Except you have to keep going
ОтветитьStock track bar will move the axles about .6 of an inch opposite each other. And, you probably will still have to do a t-case drop or you will have a driveline vibration especially with the age of stock parts on these.
ОтветитьWhy wouldn't you use a long extension to get that bolt out on the rear shock, instead of a bottle jack to take the springs out why not get the spring compression tool
Seems like alot of work instead of using simple tools, work smarter not harder right
Any1 agree with me,just saying
How did the kyb shock absorbers go? they are comfortable ?
ОтветитьJust found this video and your channel. SUBSCRIBED! Do any of your customers say anything about a vibration from not doing the transfer case drop? I'm looking to use the RC 2.5 lift as well but was wondering about driveshaft angle and vibration.
ОтветитьDid you pull that shock bolt and put some never seize on it or leave it for the next sucker.
ОтветитьHow does it ride compared to the factory springs?
ОтветитьGreat video. On the front you didn't mention if you loosened the control arm bolts like you did in the rear. It looks like you did, just double checking. Thanks again.
Ответитьhow can I tell if I have any lift on my jeep? I bought it and it has 33"s on it
Ответитьthe kit comes w more parts then that lol
ОтветитьFor any bolt on this car i highly recommend a torch, penetrating fluid, wire wheel, copper anti-zeise, and your personal favorite vices for taking breaks. Love your channel! building my tj has made me wanna start a channel(still havent) but im doing EVERYTHING to my project and your knowledge has definitely helped me!
ОтветитьVery informative video, and the bottle jack hack is AWESOME . Thank you so much for your knowledge.
ОтветитьUndercoating job is not soo good and you did not put back the rubber stopper in the coil 😮
Ответитьjust added this to my JK, I found replacing the front control arms to adjust caster made it a lot nicer, less wondering, I added a adjustable front track bar to center the front axle, and I noticed she was more like 3.75 taller than 2.5, so I replaced the front drive shaft to cut down on floor vibration
ОтветитьWhy wouldn't you just use a spring compression tool?
ОтветитьWhat about the track bar? Did you install an adjustable one, or use a relocation bracket? I have a Teraflex 2" lift and it comes with a relocation bracket.
Ok, just heard your comment about the trackbar. So, doing a 2" lift I don't need to mess with it? Rear shock bolts all broke, cut them out from above lifting the fram off the body, all that's left is the srpings, been holding off due to the trackbar question. I don't really want to mess with it if I don't have to.
Nice video, and frame painting. The jack on the axel is a damn good idea!!!
The factory bottle jack with a drill adapter works pretty good too.
ОтветитьI know this was old, but did you skip the jounce bumpers for time or not needed anymore?
ОтветитьWould 35's be an ok tire for a 2.5" lift kit?
ОтветитьThanks for Vídeo 👍
ОтветитьThanks for the video
ОтветитьDid the customer end of needing to do a SYE kit with a 2.5” lift? I’m looking into doing a 2.5” in hopes I can save money and not have to do a SYE kit
ОтветитьInstalled this same kit and no it wobbles like crazy. Even the rear view mirror fell off any ideas? Thanks.
