ОтветитьHaving a healthy amount of water and quality food is the most important when it comes to bugging in

ОтветитьStaying clean. SANITATION! SANITATION! SANITATION! If you haven't thought about what or where you're going to do with your human waste, you're already sick and disease d. By not staying clean, you're welcoming in a host of problems. Just keeping your fingernails short is important. You scratch yourself at night with filthy fingernails. You can wake up with blood poisoning, a nasty infection, dermatitis on steroids, etc.Oral hygiene is very important. All this is extremely important for keeping a positive attitude as well. Shave if you can. You don't want a beard.
This will not be like the movies if there is a natural disaster or another type of cataclysmic problem. Try and imagine no toilets. None. Where are you going to go? What are you going to do with a weeks worth of your famies waste? Where have they been going all week? What happens when everyone has dysentery? Uncontrollably diarrhea? Vomiting? There will be thousands of people sick, dying, and dead everywhere. What happens when it's 105° out? Bloated swollen dead bodies of people's pets and your neighbors. Billions of flies. Actual clouds of flies so big they would block the sun. That's how it was in various places during WWII. Dead horses and people and billions of flies.
You're not going to be walking around with your little "Pop Gun" looking tough like they do in the movies. You will be struggling to deal with the horror that's befallen us all. In between puking from the smell of rotting and dead animals and people. Death smells horrible. Whether it's human or an animal. You never forget it. There will be very few John Wicks running around.

ОтветитьLACK OF PREPPING A YEAR'S WORTH OF ALLEVE, TYLENOL, ADVIL?
YEARS WORTH OF LAXATIVES?
YEARS WORTH OF WATER?
LOL
LONG RANGE DEFENSIVE TOOLS? BOWS ARROWS RIFLES?
I have a full gym, heavy bag and all. If I was just starting out, I'd go with kettle bells. Out of all my equipment, they get the most use, those, the heavy bag and a slam ball. I also screwed some old tires to the wall to practice edged weapons. Quickly found out I can punch them too.
We stock protein powder along with other supplements. Powdered milk is another item for protein and electrolytes. Creatine if the person thinks they will have plenty of water.
Since we haven't done any home canning, we use a dehydrator for now. Cheap, easy to use. Powdered vegetables can be added to those ramen noodles. Might not be tasty at first, but some spices and a dose of hunger will fix that.
Besides books, board games, cards and dominoes, we have a dart board. Also BB guns with plenty of BB's. Sling shots. All cheap, quiet and able to retrieve much of the ammo if done properly.
Out of shape-Check, Can I do much about it-nope. I can shoot very well and move around well enough to provide a defense of the casa.
