While the majority of religious believers are good and sincere in their beliefs, the powerful, wealthy religious institutions are firmly embedded with the ruling elites in every religious country. Humanity will be much better served when the majority accepts the fact the Bible is based on a fictional 6,000 year-old Earth where Neanderthals never existed. In the real world, most people have some Neanderthal DNA because our human ancestors mated with Neanderthals and Africans whose ancestors have never left Africa have no Neanderthal DNA. But religion still thrives because of its very real attributes for its many powerful, wealthy vested interests i.e. mega cash-cow and powerful tool of political control. All because, no evidence is required by believers to support religious claims. Tragic for truth, facts, justice, peace etc. Tragic for humanity.

Anyone who likes a little music with their science, take a listen to "Nightwish, The Greatest Show on Earth". Its the story of evolution & includes excerpts from Darwin & Richard Dawkins. Its from an album thats actually called "Endless Forms Most Beautiful".

Darwin was a Divinity student, not a scientist. He thought the cell was a globule of protoplasm, simple and uncomplicated. Attenborough giving praise to Darwin is like doctors today giving credit to "doctors" who bled their patients in the 18th century. And here we are in the 21st century and there is still no empirical evidence that mutated GENES can produce new and genetically different organs or body parts over time. Attenborough believes in fairy tales.

I agree Charles Darwin is very considerate and humble in his writing - in the Origin of Species, he never claimed he was right about something, he is just stating his observation. He’s my favorite scientist. And a true definition of scientific thinking. I wonder what he would think of CRISPR

Currently reading On the Origin of Species by Darwin for the first time. Darwin was the quintessential scientist. "Enormously considerate" (as David Attenborough beautifully puts it), but also an ingenious critical thinker very much ahead of his time.

The great Charles Darwin conceived of the correct theory of natural selection as the origin of the species after many years of study and observations. A new book published by Austin Macauley Publishers titled From Chemistry to Life on Earth outlines abiogenesis in great detail with a solution to the evolution of the genetic code and the ribosome as well as the cell in general using 290 references, 50 illustrations and several information tables with a proposed molecular natural selection formula with a worked example for ATP. This extends Darwins' theory down to the molecular level thereby making the cell a simpler unit of life for someone to understand than the whole multicellular organism.

"Sexual selection" was scandalous even for people that believed 100% in Darwin's survival of the fittest idea. Their misogyny overpowered their attempt at having a scientific mind.
