Which race are you looking forward to this week? Which rider impressed you the most at the UCI World Championships at Imola?
ОтветитьI ride 52-25 up to 15%. If its steeper I need the small ring.
ОтветитьROGLIČ
ОтветитьValVerde! Old guys rule! Right Dan?
ОтветитьAnyone else keep getting distracted by Dan's little yellow hat?...
ОтветитьWout Van Aert is gonna win the hour record, I'm calling it now.
ОтветитьDan, I've enjoyed your commentary work on Eurosport so much recently - IMHO you are the best commentator by far. CK totally gets on my nerves particularly with his obsession of making weak puns out of everything. Any chance you could oust him and install yourself as the main man? 👍😁
ОтветитьKEREN
Ответитьwhen you are young, light and not yet blighted by injuries and their scars, you can dig deep into (very big pro) glycogen reserves and go for it - good on him!
Ответитьgeraint thomas and alex Dowsett in the TT were worth a mention as well I thought
ОтветитьThat French team kit is 💥
ОтветитьWhy do you French pogs still hang on Alapeepee? The guy is an utter disappointment just like his countryman PeeNo. Both will never win the tour even though the French pogs are desperate.
ОтветитьJulian Alaphillepe🏅
ОтветитьLooks like Dan is sporting a little yellow dunce cap in this video
ОтветитьUse of ‘weapon’ made me chuckle - perhaps not universally regarded as a the same term of endearment as probably intended... ;-)
ОтветитьMarc Hirschi, the new Fabian Cancellara.
ОтветитьWell said, Julian brings excitement to races - exactly what the sport deserves
ОтветитьThanks Dan for great summing up of the world of cycling. Statistics on Valverde. My god this man knows how to suffer over a long time. Good to hear Chloe Dygert may not have sustained serious injury. Finally, let us know the lottery numbers please.
ОтветитьSkiing has a "Combined" medal, should the UCI give a combined medal to the rider with the most points for example in the TT and the road race? Would WVA have been able to close the gap to JA in the road race if he did not do a huge effort in the TT?
ОтветитьAlaphilippe was wearing a non-aero watch too.
ОтветитьJulian is a beast. A joy to watch and one of only a few that throws all he has at a race. He’s fearless.
ОтветитьBig ring yes but what size ring and what size sproket at the back very important info. Also he is not a big rider and with maybe low bone density as was discussed in some of the commentary as an issue for cyclists.
ОтветитьSo good to see dan back ! Miss the old team
ОтветитьI have to say that I think Dan L is getting pretty good at this presenting lark. Very natural but also informed and enthusiastic, great stuff.
ОтветитьOn the point of Alaphilippe's emotion. I don't think the expectation he built from last year's TdF performance, and what could be described as lesser performance this year (still 1 stage victory and 3 days in yellow) is a factor in his post-race reaction. He made it really clear that TdF is not on his radar in the near future and the World Championships were going to be his main priority in 2020, even before Covid. Once the COVID disruption hit, the Tour de France, as demonstrated with the way he "mysteriously" (ie: it wasn't a mistake - it was deliberate) surrendered the Yellow Jersey, was always going to be a building step towards hitting his absolute peak for the World Championships. This was his #1 priority for the season and has been his #1 career ambition. Hence the huge sense of relief and emotions that came thereafter, with obviously his dad's passing adding to the overall load! There is also something to be said with making it look like he wasn't on his best form this year and the tactics employed by the French team during the race to make it look like he might not be on a good day on Sunday when they increased the tempo 70km out, sacrificing 3 riders before "giving up" probably getting the Belgian team to think that Alaphilippe wasn't on such a good day after all (he was pulling all sort of faces). Everybody knew where he would attack, yet he seemed to have surprised WVA with his trademark acceleration on the last climb, indicating that they maybe had written off the possibility with the French surrendering the tempo and sending Martin on the attack at the bottom of the hill (you have to also credit Martin for that victory - the way he rode that last hill, first setting the pace, then reeling back attackers made the last attack possible).
ОтветитьI didn't want Van Aert to win. He just looks like a big, dumb, sulky child with a moronic haircut. I was happy he lost.
ОтветитьAwesome show yet again Dan....great tipping. 2 out of 2, who’s your tip for the Giro.
ОтветитьThe GCN kiss of death curse is broken.
ОтветитьI find this world championship the most satisfying after Sagan's attack in Richmond 2015.
ОтветитьDan, I’ve been watching gcn since it was on VHS. Excluding Hank’s father son ride with the ridiculous production value and heart string tugs, This may be the top video all time. You are so concise and honest in reporting the most entertaining part of the racing. I love GCN and everything you guys have put into this channel. I know I’m not getting into the bike vault with this comment. I just want you guys to know that people all over the world really enjoy your content. Thanks so much
Ответить2 of 2 🤣👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Ответитьdoping is back big time in bike riding. Just call it for what it is....DOPING.
ОтветитьPogacar didn't even care for his own birthday. Super humble.
ОтветитьDan "Fluky Brit" Llyod
ОтветитьWhat will be mentioned more in the coming months - Cervelo Test Team name drops or his prognostication skills?
ОтветитьValverde is Ageless
Ответитьcompletely agree, Alaphilippe was stupendous! Lots of competing talent through many specialties.
ОтветитьAll hail "NostraDANus", the world famous clairvoyant Cervelo test rider. So who is your pick for the Giro?
ОтветитьLa Lieja-Bastoña-Lieja y Flecha Valona. El corredor que me impresionó fue Tadej Pogačar y Alan phillips.
ОтветитьWolphilippe!
ОтветитьImmer großes Blatt!
Ответитьno mention of two time defending elite mens road champion Australian Rohan Dennis???
ОтветитьReally top content considering no access to race footage for any event. Hoping gcn can start leveraging their vast community for better race coverage, particularly women's racing.
ОтветитьPour Wout being compared with 2 big dopers from the 90's!
ОтветитьSuperb racing summary Dan...without a doubt a highlight of my week in catching up with a comprehensive racing update. All done in in Dan's characterful style...chapeau👍
ОтветитьPower numbers at climb like Pogacar.
ОтветитьWas Valverde the oldest top 10 finisher does anyone know?
ОтветитьI wish you didn't include spoilers in the headlines of your videos. Due to family obligations, I haven't watched the race yet. Now I know who won.
ОтветитьLoving the little yellow hat you're wearing Dan
ОтветитьMuch appreciated reverence and respect to Alaphalippe in your reporting Dan. It was a great race, superb scenery, impressive cycling, great commentary oh, and a well deserved win for Alaphalippe. I still can’t believe the chasing group shot themselves in the foot by trying to prevent van Aert from winning the race in a sprint, by ensuring ...... he would win the sprint for second place. Bring on the Bink Bank, La Fleche Wallonne, the Giro,Liege_Bastogne-Liege, and all the other races scheduled for this year.
The joy of having endured an interrupted calendar this year is the constricted calendar for the rest of this year. Overdose? Ask my wife after the Azencross. Thank you Racepass.
