Are the peppers moths like fairly flys with dust matter?
ОтветитьHi Mr. Anderson! Thanks for all the help getting ready for the CSET! Also, who is thinking flowers intentionally flower later? Like I am not the best at bio but I am pretty sure flowers are not making choices.
ОтветитьI am watching this from Denmark
Ответитьahhahha my teacher made me watch this
ОтветитьBio final tomorrow haha tha ks a mil.
ОтветитьMr. Anderson, you know global warming is a hoax!
HAHAHAHA, I crack myself up.
thank you Mr andersen .do you have something about fossiles and sedimentary rocks
ОтветитьAround 6 minutes in, Mr. Anderson uses the word die, when he really means die WITHOUT reproducing successfully. This may be due to many reasons:
Less pollinating insects survive, more insect eaters or disease affecting plant or pollinator symbionts.
Flowering uses more water, favorable temperature, or other abiotic materials less available later.
Other plants might grow bigger and keep the plant from flowering; so, like huckleberry plants in the Pacific Northwest forest, they cannot flower without the sunlight, or like late blackberries, they are not sweet, and so not selected by symbiotic animals for food energy.
Frost might prevent the late flowers from producing seeds, as in high or Northern plants.
Heat or drought or precipitation might cause different fungi to grow, that kill the plant before seed maturity.
There are so many possibilities that humans have only discovered some major ones that are associated with differential reproduction. I was in one college lecture in which the professor showed mechanisms of seed abscission - how a seed gets transport by differences in ability or direction of the wind to release it. So plants flowering and seeding to fertile places have taken advantage of even the wind, and the physics of this universe, over evolutionary time. Even glacier winds push flying seeds south in the great glaciations and recessions of recent millions of years.
I would really like to emphasize that you do NOT fail as an individual if you don't reproduce! You affect the earth, all other organisms, ecosystems and are symbiotic in many, many ways. You are integral to the life around you, and can make many choices based on what you yourself value. You affect these changes in allele frequency of practically all other organisms with which you come in contact, and many which you don't.
Your choices are important, and biology & evolution are the ways in which you affect everything.
