Thank you!!! I found that plunging fist in and out of water (in the basket reservoir) helped to suck loosened leave-debris back out into basket area; after breaking it loose w fashioned coat-hanger, as suggested. This vid was a great help, thank you.

This worked!! I was in panic mode with no water returning to the pump, no suction and after trying this technique, everything is running perfectly!! I didn’t get any dirt but I did free up the impeller… I think it was stuck!

I just had to do this and it worked perfectly! The hanger didn't pull the stuff out, but I used the hangar to loosen it and my fingers to get it out.

Thank you! I couldn't figure out why my pool cleaner was not moving. After watching your video, I followed the instructions and cleared out A LOT of debris. from the impeller...sticks, leaves, etc. I primed the pump, and the Kreepy Krauly is now racing across the pool. Great video!

Thanks so much for the video! I didn't pull out any debris with the hangar but I had a couple big gurgles. I didn't think I had accomplished anything but I turn the pump on just to see---and it worked! I am so happy and relieved! Thanks again!

Here is a faster easier way. Remove the strainer basket and put the pump lid back on. Put the multiport valve on recerc. Open the air valve on the top of the filter. Let the water drain out of the filter. Close the return valve. (without this valve forget this). Close the air valve. Put the multiport back on filter. Turn the pump on and watch the pressure gauge. When the gauge stops moving up, usually around 40 to 50 PSI, turn off the pump. The trapped pressured air/water mix will blast backwards through the impellor for about five seconds. Replace the strainer basket. You have just fixed the problem.

Thank you for this video, I was at a loss! Had low pressure at the return eye and when backwashing. Impeller was packed with tree leaf casings that must have been sucked past the skimmer and pump baskets. I used a flexible drain cleaner and my finger to dislodge the debris.

I have small hands but was not able to reach in with my hand to pull anything out. I used a piece of coat hanger. I was not able to catch any debris on the end of the coat hanger, but I think I must have dislodged something because I heard really loud gurgling noises right after I used the hanger.

Thanks for the video. I used a coat hanger as described. I was not able to "grab" any debri, but when I wiggled it around I heard loud sucking-like noises. I am not sure what that was. I thought maybe it was a sound of air sucking to the system because I had dislodged some debris (even tho I couldn't see it on the tip of the hanger). Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated! I am a Subscriber to your channel.

This video is very helpful, thanks for posting it. There must have been debris in my impeller for a while now because it was sluggish. After cleaning it out, it performs insanely well.

I did not pull anything out with the hangar, but was able to reach my hand in and pull out a couple small pieces of concrete that were jammed slightly in the impeller blades. Pool cleaner is working better and the psi rose back to normal.

Just want to thank you for saving me $475.00 that a pool guy wanted to charge me to replace the impeller, that according to him, it was damaged. I've followed your instructions..... and wallah!!!! the entrance to the impeller was dirty. I cleaned the impeller input area, and my pump is not making noises anymore and the pressure is back to normal!
Once again Thanks a million!
