Bronze To Mythic: Episode 6 - Starting Rank: Gold 1 - MTG Arena: Foundations

Starting to get a feel for the format. Video is only an hour long, buuut P2P1 is insane so its a stomp. BELIEVER

BELIEVER. Looks like a Jim D Spesh to me. I don’t shy away from green in this format as much as other people seem to especially if you can get the good rares like we have here.

1. green is by far the weakest color by a mile
2. you totaly drove the draft vs a wall ... there was no need to splash red and you took red cards over good green cards for absolutly no reason
i think the draft fell apart at 15minutes

This just didn't need to be a 3 color deck at all.

Why play the red cards?

You could have been just simic and had so much better mana

Loot has the single most hideous artwork on any Magic card I've ever seen.

Deck looks great apart from surely this one needs 17 lands

Non believer, 16 lands are to less. I'd cut a card.

I love drafting Loot. Such a great card in basically any deck with green.

Believer. Great rares and splashing for 3 cards in each color seems easy. Card quality super high.

i think jim vaules the big dumb 5 and 6 drops like needletooth a little too highly, taking it over a primum card like snarespinner is just wrong. card also makes the bite cards (green's only removal) alot better. similar with the kraken pick, karken is good but, you need removal in this format pretty bad i think (also its double blue and you dont know how blue your gonna be yet). and splashing for an abrade and a filler removal card like blast is not great. taking burst lighting, again not a good splash card.

this draft could have been better, the deck is pretty good, but is sorely lacking good on color removal. and it only has 2 kill big things cards. i can see it getting like 4 or 5 wins easily but after that i think its gonna have a hard time facing the more bomby decks, heavy removal decks and strong curve out decks. it got bombs of its own so it could go the distance but its gonna be tough

Tatyova threw this whole draft off when there was a great gruul deck to be had

Hedging towards a red splash in the middle of pack 2 with the only good red card being abrade seemed questionable to me

I really hope that people are starting to realize how annoying it might be for some of these cards to be around for five years

Non believer, I've drafted green twice now, GR and GB, both times I went 0/3. Green feels terrible imo unless you can high roll your draw. I really hope I can be proven wrong.

You were in the right seed. Draft pool looks nice, but I think you are running too many islands and mountains. 2 of each is more than enough with the 2 wilds and tapped duals. You’re splashing both and green is very important. 10 green seems too few. Having said that: non-believer. I predict a 2-3

EDIT: if you were paired with opponents of your level, you’d have gone 0-3. You got lucky

There's no shot that all of the dumpyer cards in this deck like dwynin or the morbid guy are better than land 17 in your go big ramp landfall deck, right? I just don't understand the thinking there. Like are you counting bushwhack and grow from the ashes as half a land each or something?

Not to argue with a pro player, but running 16 lands with two of them being evolving wilds + bushwhack is not the same as running 17 lands. When you use any of those cards, you're basically using up 2 lands and that skews the math. Last game because of the EW instead of having 14 lands in your deck you had 12 left.

BELIEVER. Double-splash for removal looks good, and the indriks and kraken should be more than enough to lock down any big threats on the opponent's side.

I’ll add a vote for Believer, as I think you’ve got the ability to both build a solid board presence and deal with enough early game threats to get your bigger threats in play to close things out
