I'm willing to bet the jelly donut scene ONLY needed a couple takes in reality... possibly understanding Kubrick well enough, the other 34 tries were just for laughs. 😅😂😅😂
ОтветитьSo many snobs in the comments
ОтветитьKubrick was a disrespectful a**hole but his movies are legend. He once told a female actress she wasnt allowed to eat the huge spread put out from catering for the set cast because she had a scene 3 hours later and it would make her look fat if she ate. 😂 This man was a damn animal.
ОтветитьAwwww, bleeping out ‘God Damned’? That’s just America-level pathetic.
ОтветитьUnfortunately I Stop This Movie Right After The LATRINE SCENE❗️‼️.
The Remaining Isn't That Memorable 4 Me ‼️❗️.
Ed Harris as Hartmann... I'd love to see that.
ОтветитьI got to know some D.I.'s after boot camp, and most of them were actually really good people. Being a D.I. is just a job and an important one at that. When in combat you have to be able to trust that your superior knows what he's doing and when he tells you to do something it's for good reason.
ОтветитьI just watched this again the other night. What a great movie. Vincent D'Onofrio for a small part stole the movie. He was amazing.
ОтветитьThese clips made me think of when I just got out of High School I enlisted in 74. I had not taken my oath and while in line at the physical in Chicago a kid next to me would not shut his mouth while the Sergeant was speaking. The Sergeant came over screaming at me for talking. When I started to say something I was told to shut up and that he didn't care. I never ended up in the service because they kept assigning me to radio operator on a Submarine. (Navy) What can I say? I went home and since my brother came back from Nam a mental mess, I pussied up and did not join up.
ОтветитьNever call a NCO SIR,
ОтветитьI was at Harris Island in the fall of 1966. A great movie and the DI role is spot-on. Semper Fi Marines.
ОтветитьYou could have made 7 about the 7 diamonds
ОтветитьI went through Navy Boot Camp in 2013. I can attest that the boot camp scenes were very similar to what I went through at Great Lakes.
ОтветитьThe term “ full metal jacket “
You said it’s not in the film …. It’s in the bathroom scene when drill instructor is killed
It’s true about how he started as technical advisor I spent about 9 months on that film as an extra in combat scenes and recruit squad when we auditioned Ermey had to beast us he was brilliant the rest is history he taught us US marine foot and rifle drill for 6 weeks prior to shooting Paris island scenes a really great bloke as were the rest except ‘cowboy ‘who was a bit of a dick😂
ОтветитьThis was a stupid video very few topic was of interest!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьFull metal jacket is the copper jacket around the lead bullet, not the case
ОтветитьI love R Lee Ermey, especially as a fellow Marine (Oorah), but Ed Harris would have been a pretty good DI. He doesn't have that yell in him though
Ответить7 Diamonds for the 7 demons that held Jesus down when Satan had his way with him and took his soul
ОтветитьYou shouldn't make videos when you don't know what you're talking about and can't even pronounce names correctly
Ответить29. HA! I knew about gomer pyle
Ответить"30 Facts You Didn't Know About Full Metal Jacket" if youve clicked this video you know at least half of them
ОтветитьIt was an ok movie, it wasn't the best of the 3 IMO, I would go Hamburger Hill, Platoon, Full Metal Jacket.
ОтветитьThe Army has drill sgts the Marines have drill instructors
ОтветитьThis should not be allowed. Kubrick would be disgusted by this AI bullshit. Boo, you should be stopped.
ОтветитьI like it, but as an actor, this is the job.
ОтветитьThe week before graduation, our DI allowed us to watch a movie at the Depot Theater (San Diego) and said he'd buy us popcorn. He bought one bag, which we passed around, and took only one kernel. There were 72 Marines and only one bag of popcorn. I lost 43 pounds in boot camp and was in the best shape I have ever been 58 years ago.
ОтветитьIf you watch the ribbons on Hartman's display, you'll see they change positions from one shot to the next that shows the ribbons. The combat ribbon may be the wrong type.
ОтветитьAnother Fact: The german voice actor is seen far more rude and angry than the original..
Ответитьone of the worst movies made... Ermey did his best as a actor.. but not enough to save this tub of crap. The director was simply a lost cause... made money putting out garbage. Rates right up there with Shyamalan... over rated beyond measure.
Ответить“Kindly welcoming” proceeds to show the D.I. Punching private joker stomach
ОтветитьBest movie ever.
ОтветитьI'm only watching this to see how many things I already knew that are on this list
ОтветитьSounds like Kubrick was an ahole.
ОтветитьThis is the best (in my opinion) Vietnam/USMC Basic Movie ever.
I was a Marine from 08-93 till 12-2002...
Life was hell, but they (Marine Corp) made me a better person!
What saying says The Rest Is History? That’s a Commie witticism dork.
ОтветитьThis was friggin awesome!
ОтветитьI went through Marine Corp boot camp in late 1987 and this movie reflected about 85% what i experienced. Had a DI come in late at night on Halloween flipping racks over, last time we seen that DI.
ОтветитьA close friend went thru Parris Island in 1966 and said the movie portrayed it all.
ОтветитьThe first half was the best movie ever made.
ОтветитьWow I just realized the "duality of man" colonel is the same actor who played the angry American in the Fawlty Towers episode The Waldorf Salad! Celery apples walnuts grapes in a mayonnaise sauce!
ОтветитьDrill Instructor not Drill Sgt. Dumb Ass!
ОтветитьYou weren't in the military were you numb nuts?!
ОтветитьThere's no desserts in Marine Corps boot camp chowhalls. There's not a situation that could plausibly happen that would have put Pvt. Pyle in contact with a doughnut. If he had been hiding a slice of bread or an apple, then maybe he could have hidden that, but this was one of the failures of the film. The other big failure was having Pyle shoot his Drill Instructor. It has never happened in the history of the Marine Corps. It's just for the shock value and it should have been edited out.
ОтветитьFull metal jacket has nothing do do with the casing of a round and everything to do with the bullet being completely covered in copper. Bullet is the copper part where the casing is the brass part. Cartridge refers to the complete thing.
Ответить31st fact you didnt know about Full Metal Jacket. My Dad was an extra when the squaddies go by in the background in a couple places.
Ответить7 daimonds easy its a jewish sign i can't say more this comment will get me banned again!
ОтветитьR. Lee Ermey was a Drill Instructor, not a Drill Sgt. Lord, get the simple stuff right.
Ответить
