this is helpful for normal running but in basketball this honestly is exactly what my coach says not to do he says to run with our chest to the floor so i really dont know how to feel about this
ОтветитьWe have heels for a reason ,look at the bottom of your foot ,look at the shape ,you have a heel ,then a outer mid foot ,then the ball of your foot, I believe we should use all the foot for mid to long distance runs, runners with a short stride length and shuffling style (which you see a lot of) usually have (flat) mid strike ,you can hear them slapping the ground with their foot,so unless your sprinting I think and I'm no expert but it makes sense to use the whole foot ,land on your heel then mid ,then on to your ball of your foot as you push off, Concentrate on lengthening your stride as well. ,back when I was. , younger I ran like this and ran 34 minutes for my 10k on less than 30 miles a week ,,worked for me !
ОтветитьTwin peaks
ОтветитьRunning and Jogging are the same in regards of these instructions?
ОтветитьI’m 70 years old people talk too long before they get to the point they lose me before I hear the interesting part. I’m trying to run but I’m running in place I’m on the ball of my foot I’m just trying to find out is that right or wrong I’m hustling I’m not making a lot of progress but getting 6 to8000 steps a day
ОтветитьAre you by the dinosaur rocks in Colorado?
ОтветитьGreat video my form has improved but is hard keep it and my si joint on left can ache
ОтветитьHe sounds like Joe Rogan. I can’t unhear it now.
ОтветитьIf you’re jogging it’s supposed to be heel first
ОтветитьMy feet on the sides are paining with my new shoes any suggestions for this?it was my first run
ОтветитьI’d love a video on the best way to run on a treadmill. Because of the lack of space running on a treadmill tends to be different I think.
ОтветитьTwin Peaks! My go-to spot for a run!
ОтветитьWhen I start jogging (trail running) I'm more of a forefoot striker (touching with the small toes first) and as I get tired I slow down and strike with the heal. I'm not a real runner though, I'm a hiker doing run/walks to get in shape but I'm working my way up to trail running and walking the hills with more running than walking. For now the running is about 25% with 75% walking. If I lose 15 more pounds things my change a little. I hate running on pavement, first Plantar Fasciitis I ever got (two years ago) was when I tried running on hard flat surfaces and it took 6 months to get over that so I'm just sticking to trails. The only problem is I have to drive a long way to the trail so it's expensive. I'm 68 and on my way to the weight I was when I was 18. Now I'm 6'2" and 200 pounds (down from 215 two months ago)
ОтветитьIdk that instagram pose though. Phew is it hot
ОтветитьIknew when he said 'mobile device' that this was not recent) 6 years ago
ОтветитьJesus loves you nice video
ОтветитьJust talk
ОтветитьThank you for this video, the GF has me interested in running and as an older person getting into it i'm finding stress on my knees. Most likely related to my heel strike, much appreciated!
ОтветитьStop swallowing in the mic.
ОтветитьWhat is bro yapping about man
Ответитьplantar fasciitis is killing me, That is the reason why I'm doing my research because I thought my footstrike posture has to do something with it. I even changed my shoes to Sneakers because they have a reasonable heel. Any experience?
ОтветитьIt would help if you had a slow motion segment of you running with proper form.
Maybe you have that in another video.
Thanks!
This video is awesome. Thank you so very much.
ОтветитьIs it bad that I can run an entire half on my toes (I don’t go much further)?
I don’t feel pain. And I was told I was in college to not have a neutral foot strike cause my ankle would crack and pop every step and it worried and shocked everyone.
How do I improve posture/hip mobility?
ОтветитьI am a heavier person .. overweight . I can't do toe strike ..
Ответитьexcellent thks
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьHow would i adapt this after a minor recovery from turf toe?
ОтветитьNew to the running, had been on and off, but now training and aiming for 3 days a week and this video was great to watch!!
Thank you!!! 👟🏃
The best foot strike video ever.
ОтветитьWow why can’t anyone explain it as simple and straight to the point as you
Ответить❤
ОтветитьGood theory. Putting that into practice without making it a radical change is the real challenge. Let's see.
ОтветитьNice video to me like begging. It
Improves all concepts. Thanks.
667th comment, someone has to do it
ОтветитьThis was so helpful, thank you. I’m a beginner and I have to take a break 4 weeks in already because I developed foot pain but I think it’s all to do with me accidentally running too heavy on my toes. Doing my best to keep learning because I’m determined to keep running!
ОтветитьThis work for flat feet?
ОтветитьWow
ОтветитьI've always been a heel striker, but I was having a lot of problems which I thought was normal. etc. feet were hurting underneath. As soon as I switched to forefoot strike, my feet became instantly better, and I am happier. Everyone is different.
ОтветитьI know this is an older video- just wanted to share a lightbulb moment. Kenyan, Tarahumara, Quechua, tribal long distance runners... kids growing up in those tribes aren't coached on "proper running form", they just run, and run, and run, AND RUN their whole early adult lives- and the sheer volume of running allows them to naturally and unconsciously adjust and correct. They probably never even think about proper form. Alas, the modern age. . .
ОтветитьThis changed everything!! thank you
Ответитьthank you for your video i decided to take up running in may age 46 never done it in my life id got up to doing around 30 miles a week a 7 mile run 13 mile run and a couple of small ones about 12 weeks in i broke my heal as i have no knowledge about running im trying to figure out if it was somthing i was doing wrong to prevent it form happeing once im fit again as initially the doc told me it was a sprain so 4 weeks later i made it worse so not been able to run for the last 12 weeks and another 3 to go before im back at hospital so hoping on getting some tips to help me for when i am able to start running again please
Ответитьits my 3rd run on barefoot style shoes , i've to mentally remind myself to place my feet more under myself , and picking up my feet , the feeling i get is that i am using my feet to send the ground backwards then i tend to land more comfortably
ОтветитьThank you 🙌🙌🙌☺️
ОтветитьAny suggestions on why when I hit around 4 mile, the balls of my feet feel like they are burning yet numb at the same time, its very uncomfortable and stops me running any more than 6 mile, I've tried different shoes, socks, laces loose, but nothing is working.
ОтветитьThanks, brother. Very informative. Mental health is Max low, so trying to get myself back in shape in hopes for both physical and mental strengthening. This information is a nice step in the right direction. Much appreciated!
