JBL Bar 9 1 Review - Completely Wireless Surround Sound System!

I cant believe they came with micro usb charging ports for such an expensive and relatively recent product... its pennies of difference for manufacture but a massive usability and life span increase that would cost THEM less (fewer warranty repairs) in the long run. How disappointing.

Would you hook up your fire stick directly to the JBL soundbar through the H DMI port or directly to the TV

I have this with my primary tv. I have tried a few others (sony A700 with bass module and surrounds, samsung q(something or other) but ended up returning because they do not sound as good. I do have the rears perm. mounted with adapters so that I don't have to move them around. For me and my specific ears, this is one of the best on the market currently.

Great vid! The HDMI cable that comes with, is it 2.1? Or 2.0?

This thing is a beast . I love it. Once you setup the calibration . No need for endless level tweaking . Watched. The dark knight on 4k disc . Holy fuck my windows were shaking lol . Atmos is crystal . This thing kills .

I really want this for the wireless detachable rears and the overall form factor but my 100$ Vizio has an EQ and I refuse to sacrifice that function. Ridiculous that there are systems at this price point bound to presets or “levels”

They should have taken a video test to advertise and better check its quality

Did you review the 1300x ? Or the 1000 bar ? I know the 1300x comes with the jbl1 app. But a higher price. Would you recommend the upgraded models over this ?

While connecting carefully

We bought this today and spend good few hours trying to calibrate it. Unfortunately it wasn't best first impression as couldn't complete the calibration as it was saying "retry" regardless following all the troubleshooting steps. We thought it would be easier to find the issue if there was a mobile app. Also wondering whether this is a common fault or an issue.

when I play music via smartphone the control unit does not play any sound. does it happen to you too?

Is rubbish I waist my money after few months the base is gone dead even I put it on 5 and the volume level on 15 is just rubbish

Thanks for the explanation Sir. Please answer this query - I have 2019 model TCL TV with HDMI ARC port, and JBL 9.1 with HDMI eARC port, also a Xiaomi Box 2nd Gen.

So if I connect an external hard drive (that has bluray rip movies of lossless Dolby Atmos) to Xiaomi Box, which inturn will be connected to JBL 9.1, so will the sound output be lossless Dolby Atmos ?

I’m looking for a new sound bar w/ sub. Something with strong bass that won’t distort at higher volumes. I could buy this JBL 9.1 for $600. There any other sound bar you recommend that’s cheaper than $600?

Surround speakers left attached question... will they play all day or still limited to battery charge (i.e. charge only when bar in standby). Also, when attached, do they play the surround channel with up-firing speakers? Want to keep them attached most of the time and just put in back during a good movie where they will be needed. Thanks!

If i buu this soundbar, i want to have the satellite speakers permanently mounted at the back. Its a bit of a hassle for me to plug it in the soundbar to charge. Is it okay to just permanently have those 2 speakers plugged in with lets say a smartphone fast charging adapter so i dont have to charge it daily? Or would that cause a problem with the speakers?

Not worth the price tag selling for $1700 at Best Buy Canadian. I can buy a Onkyo HT-S5910 Dolby Atmos 5.1.2-Channel Home Theater Package, Black with up firing speakers for only $700 so why would anyone pay $1700 for sound bar with stupid speakers that don’t last more than 2 hours then has to be charged what a joke JBL failed big time on this one

Does the subwoofer turn kn automatatically or you need to press a button to wake it up?

To be honest, sound bars are for the look nothing to do with the quality of the sound. I bought one recently and It can never replace my home theater since I adjust the sound how I want it but with the sound bar, it is really frustrating. My old home theater has 3 subs which I distribute across the living room, hence the bass does not come from one place. and I adjust the mid speakers depending on how far they are from the person seating. but the sound bar makes is very expensive for no reason at all.
