I Found the Holy Grail Jeep YJ Axle But...

Front clip (square headlights) is a 1979.

There was a 78/79 D60 kingpin axle on ebay a few weeks ago for $3500, it was missing axles, hubs, breaks etc.
I had been looking for one and gave up and got a 2012 F350 Superduty D60 and will go 4 link. I got the SD axle for $300 from a ford parts yard that had a stack of them from 05+ trucks.

Dan… that is a NP-205. It has the telltale 3-bolt PTO cover on the rear.

Why do people sit on parts and let them use away. All them parts he can sale. How many LS. There and other parts. People sit on parts why…makes no sense. I chased this guy for a old suburban lifted but he just sat on it til it was not worth what he wanted. ..it sat in his yard til tires rotted. And body rusted

You can get a Fusion D60 housing for about 1900.00 Not cutting brackets and guaranteed straight. Most of the other component's get replaced anyway.

The later years have 36+" width on the perches, 5+" more than the 78-9

that sucks man. I would be a bit weary about that thing just sitting there with no axle in it. the housing is probably completely rusted out on the inside, same with the hub,.. that would be a TON of work. I have been considering doing a tube swap on one of the dodge/gm kp60s I got here in my pile.
