Even in death, logan indirectly stole the spotlight of Connor, its his wedding day, instead of being happy he got it worst... I think Connor is right his dad didn't really like him.
ОтветитьIt’s such surreal writing and acting with Roman. He’s genuinely in full denial, and Ken and Shiv don’t know what to do with that because it seems so unrealistic, as if from a movie or something. They’re trying to get him to break through that denial but he just won’t budge
ОтветитьOh man Connor made me cry big time, I never even got a chance to make him proud of me, I did not expect to be so emotional about a garbage persons death
ОтветитьThe scene that made me love Connor so much. Everyone brings up the "he didnt even like me line" but the "well is he?" immediately after the siblings telling him "we think he's dead" will forever live in my head. They were still in public, the siblings are (understandably) emotional and confused and he just jumps right into cutting through the bullshit. "Is dad dead or is he not" basically. Just jumps right into the first step of sacking up and taking the helm of the situation at hand :/
ОтветитьConnor: “he never even liked me”
And yet it was just Connor out of all the sibs at Logan’s party in the video
Heartbreaking that Connor immediately goes “oh I’m sorry I don’t even know what I mean! he loved me!” just to comfort the kids. he was really more like a dad figure to them than a brother
ОтветитьNow this is acting
Ответитьi love connor so much. underrated in the fan base as much as he is in his own family.
ОтветитьHow much older is Connor than Ken? That's the point at which Logan said "well, this one flopped, I'll try 3 more". And I guess he was trying again with Kerry...?
ОтветитьThe confusion is so real, I had the same experience with my older brothers when my father passed away.
This is a very visceral and heartbreaking moment.
I love how this whole show builds up the idea that Connor isn't TRULY a full sibling to the other 3 Roys ( " I'm the ELDEST BOY!!! " ), with him always being on the outside and never being involved in the sibling bonding in the finales then in the final season you realise that in some ways Connor was closer to Logan ( the dinner recording from the finale ) and that he also had a more mature outlook on life what with him not being desperate for their father's love/approval ( which was almost impossible to gain anyway )
ОтветитьThat “what happened” was heart wrenching.
ОтветитьShiv was actually caring to Connor in this scene.
ОтветитьThis was sad but funny at the same time 😂
ОтветитьContender for one of the greatest single episodes of TV ever made.
ОтветитьI mean, that has to be awful. To realize your father died having something more important to do that to attend to your wedding.
ОтветитьImagine in your wedding day, your dad suddenly died. Must be really hurt because you can't even happy on your own wedding day.
Ответитьgod connor as a character is so tragic.
ОтветитьOh, poor Con... Always forgotten and ignored in favor of his three younger siblings. And his siblings don't even realize that he sacrificed for them. On the day that he's supposed to be the priority, they forget about him once again, not letting him speak his last words to his dad. Hoping to have his dad's respect by Logan showing up on his wedding day. Only to be told that his dad died en route to Sweden instead of the wedding. One last piece of proof that "he never even liked me" was truth. I mean his dad showed up to Shiv's wedding...
ОтветитьI am no film major, and I usually don't psychoanalyze TV and Movies but I was beyond struck on the depth of Connor's character. The three "main siblings" are all feeling helpless and distraught, while Connor, the eldest and most "wronged" child of them all isn't informed until after the fact Logan is dead, unable to say his final goodbyes which the other siblings go the chance to do. Not only that, but on his Wedding day, with a woman who doesn't even love him. Everyone is so self absorbed with their own issues, they don't even bother to think about one of the only people who truly loves and cares about them, their brother, on his own wedding day. Crushing.
ОтветитьOn first watch, that frame of Ken and Shiv holding hands felt like a punch to the gut. Maybe the only time in the whole show that those two are unequivocally united together. This is the doomsday scenario that they have to face, together. After, they're never the same.
ОтветитьWOW. That awkward arm-grab-hug from Roman is so realistic to having no clue what to do with your body when you're grieving and in shock
ОтветитьThis whole scene has been haunting me since I saw it. Love it.
ОтветитьShiv and Kendall holding hands to tell big brother Connor the news while Roman nervously sits on the floor. I really like how they convey their sibling dynamics without childhood flashbacks.
Ответитьhe was right, those are not serious people.
ОтветитьMan the actors are so good at portraying how they're grown adults but in many ways they're still little kids, totally cowed by Logan. The body language in that argument between Roman and Shiv was like two toddlers fighting in a playground. Masterful acting.
ОтветитьAt this point the audience is in the mindset of Roman I know I was in denial, expecting at any moment they will receive a call telling them Logan is ok that somehow he recovered or was very sick but stable or everything was a sick joke or something, the way they played never showing Logan dying I think it helps to create that uncertainty the audience don't know what to think and Logan at that point have already recovered of serious health problems
ОтветитьConnor is lowkey the only person in the show who isnt completely morally bankrupt
ОтветитьThe fact that he says "liked" instead of "loved" makes it even more sad to me. Like he would’ve just been happy for his dad to look at him as a cool guy instead of nothing
ОтветитьI like Connor. Sue me
ОтветитьIn this genius episode, Alan Ruck's reaction stood out the most. It was so real!
ОтветитьGod that shot of Roman sitting on the ground is so heartbreaking
Ответитьthe last one
ОтветитьMan this scene is really having me really choked up 😢
ОтветитьMust be the fifth time I've watched this, and I couldn't help but pay extra attention to Sarah Snook's facial expressions. So precise and devastating. Her facial acting throughout the show is a thing of wonder but it's especially remarkable how she was twice as emotional and expressive in this episode while still navigating those shifts subtly and gracefully.
ОтветитьI always meant to watch this show, idk why the algorithm decided to serve me this clip but goddamn what a fucking series of acting moments. I guess i got spoiled on some shit or wtv, but this was a really fucking good scene.
I know i dont have all the context but losing people fucking sucks no matter the realtionship.
"He never even liked me."
That shit caught me off guard.
Although i hope this doesn't make the algorithm spoil more stuff for me, lol
True colours revealed: Kendall was quick to get the ball rolling, but at least remained somber and didn't revel in it. The eager glee that Shiv displayed in her father's death (crocodile tears aside) shows her character and that of most women clearly - pure hatred. Connor knew his Dad never loved him, but still loved him and wanted to make him proud - which was impossible (even if he had somehow become president). Roman loved his Dad more than he loves the business (as Kendall and especially Shiv do) and more than he wanted love from his Dad (as all the others did, but especially Connor).
ОтветитьThe loss of a parent who holds immense importance in your life, for good or ill, is a shockingly gut-wrenching experience. I hadn't spoken to my father for 5 years before he passed-- with very good reasons. When my sister called me to tell me he'd died, a few days after my 30th birthday, I almost had a heart attack. His loss literally almost killed me. Losing him was the most humbling experience in my life, as everything I thought I'd understood about his relevance in my life fell away and I was just a child who'd lost her father and would never again see him and speak with him in the flesh. It hit me like a ton of bricks that for however long I would remain alive, I would never have direct access to my dad again. Ever. It was devastating.
ОтветитьHe died Fetching his iPhone from a clogged toilet
-Tom
This scene finally made me realize that Connor's way of coping with the abuse is throwing himself into other people. He had a pure reaction of, "Dad never even liked me." Then, he immediately goes into big brother mode to take care of the siblings so he can ignore his own pain. Sums up the entire character. I relate the most to Connor, honestly.
ОтветитьLogan George Roy has died today! Logan George Roy was the Chairman of the Board of the Waystar Royco Broadcasting Systems and he died at eleven o'clock this morning of a heart condition! And woe is us! We're in a lot of trouble!!
ОтветитьMan these 4 in this episode, heartbreaking all around. Sometimes you like the characters, other times you don't but they make you feel things and that's what acting should do.
ОтветитьI dont think ive ever seen the sheer tragedy of someones death put to screen as well as they did this episode. Felt so real. Massive props to everyone involved, theyve just made history.
ОтветитьThis episode had some of the greatest acting I’ve ever seen. Not to mention the camera shots and direction in which the episode was shot. One of the best episodes of TV I’ve seen in years
ОтветитьThis episode had me ugly crying the entire way… brilliant direction, wiring, acting, scoring…. Good shit
