Great video, Tony. I am not surprised that it is a conversation starter. I would definitely be interested in trying out the propulsion motor. I am using a trolling motor or 2.5hp 2 stroke for my inflatable dinghy, but neither of them are ideal.

I have been looking at a pod Navy 6 on the yacht to replace the diesel. I have discovered that if left in the water full time their longevity is not so good. I will stick to the old diesel and focus on sailing.

Thanks for a great video and rundown after a solid experience using it.

it's good for what it does. if you expect to cruise around full throttle all the time, then they definitely aren't for you.

I bought one. Was great until the day the throttle stopped working. Three months later it is still not repaired although under warranty. Just sitting in Athens waiting for the small control unit along with 25 others waiting for the same part. Works great until it doesn’t.

My Spirit Evo started pouring smoke from the battery in July after two years of use in Tahiti. Doesn’t work, anymore.

What’s your opinion for use on 19 foot /trailer sailer for inland lakes.

there is a 2 metre cable available so you can store the battery at your feet. Totally changes te weight and feel of a small boat using this motor. I highly recommend it. Also, removes the fear of dropping the battery off the back of the boat too.

Great video. I've just bought a small inflatable powered by watersnake for exploring quiet waterways, great fun. For small creeks etc watersnake lower speed is fine. Just bought new 5hp 2 stroke for crossing larger bodies of water(12knt 2up) eg harbours, lakes, then switch to watersnake. If I want to maintain factory warranty its $200-300 service (daylight robbery), car cost $300 but I'm getting oil change for that. There nothing to do on 2 stroke when new. Plan is do 3month service then do rest myself, that way I'm covered for first year.

Ability to adjust Watersnake depth on fly is big plus for some of small waterways I've taken it. What is Spirit shallow water drive like to use?

Did you buy the motor at retail? Or did you get it free or at a discount?

Price might be high, but how much are you saving in maintenance and fuel cost in a year?

Great and informative video! On the ‘color’ matter, that easily shows dirt: I would se that as a pro: The motor is ‘gently asking you’ to be cleaned !😂😂😂😂
