Ken Griffin is sour grapes because he lost money the last month.....there is nothing altruistic about Griffin.

Its the mentality of the Chinese/Fareast cultures to admire the West or feel proudest to be seen that they own or wear something made from the West, no matter how good a product is but if made by China will Not have the same effects. This is the fact unfortunately.

Just to keep a record here, by watching this episode, I'm more sure that China will be much better after 4 years. And to the point that Friedberg mentioned about regulatory on foreign companies in China, that will also be improved a lot in 4 years.

@grok
The claim that "US companies can't participate in the Chinese market, while Chinese companies can participate in the US market" is misleading. Both can operate in each other's markets, but with significant restrictions.
US companies in China: Firms like Apple and Tesla operate extensively, but face joint venture requirements, sector bans (e.g., media), forced technology transfers, and tariffs (up to 125% on US goods). China’s market is critical for US firms due to its consumer base and manufacturing, though corruption and IP theft pose challenges.
Chinese companies in the US: Over 286 Chinese firms, like Alibaba, are listed on US exchanges ($1.1 trillion market cap), but face audit compliance rules, CFIUS scrutiny, and potential delistings. Tariffs (145% on Chinese goods) and political risks add volatility. VIE structures enable listings but carry legal risks.
Key differences: China’s market is more state-controlled, limiting foreign access in sensitive sectors, while the US is more open but increasingly restricts Chinese investments. US firms rely on China for supply chains and sales; Chinese firms seek US capital markets. Both face trade barriers, but the claim of one-sided access oversimplifies the issue. Neither market is fully open nor entirely closed.

Based on this conversation, it looks like manufacturing isn’t coming back to America—instead, it’s shifting to India. With cheaper labor and even higher profits than in China. Manufacturers seem more addicted to the idea of massive profits than to the notion of 'Made in America' profits.

Most Americans don’t understand that communism is not capitalism friend.

It’s a fight, only one can be a winner. It’s competition not cooperation.

How can you do business with your opponent?

Find out his weakness so you can kick his ash and win!
