Hey Steve. You are probably aware that the TBM’s that you are used to flying are faster than the Vision Jet. Both are turbine powered but if you look at the max rated speed of both, it tells us that the TBM surpasses the Vision Jet. I don’t know how noisy the two are but the TBM is faster. In the Vision Jet, the noise maker is over your head. In the TBM, the noise is out in front of you. You are probably aware of all of this already, but I thought I would mention this.

The funny thing about airplanes is there are many benefits to a larger size. It's counter-intuitive. But a larger airplane can have redundant systems, a larger fuel bay so that it has more landing options (and therefore better fuel price options), a higher cruising altitude (again reducing cost).
I am not sure of the scaling, and I'm sure someone could do the math. But I'm willing to bet a 757 is at least twice as safe and has half the total fuel cost per mile as this plane. (At 10x the cost)

I do not understand why they did not get their IFR clearance while still ON THE GROUND !! Seems that would have simplified the flight quite a bit. So this puts them VFR dodging thunder storms while in an IFR flight environment. Not Smart.
