We all know this symbol or a picture like this. What do we name this symbol? The symbol of Tai’Chi? Or the Symbol of Yin and Yang? This is the symbol that we, the offsprings, perceived the
Fu’Xi eight diagrams with a full heart and comprehended the spirit of him, and then drew a symbol of this. This symbol looks simple, but it tells us several important spirits from understanding Fu’xi:
First, it is round. Why round matters? Why not square? Because the round shape is changeable, it is easy to change, and it is changing and moving constantly. And also, the round shape means perfect and completeness, which is the second point, the round shape is gentle and no-harmful. So any other shapes more or less have some angels, angels are Sharpe and easy to harm people or things. So in Chinese, we say a person has his edges and corners to indicate a person who is aggressive and sharp-minded.
So that is why you can feel harmony in this symbol because it is smooth and gentle. But it doesn’t indicate slippery and foxy. Although slippery and foxy are a type of personalities, but no, that is not what this symbol says. This symbol says flexible and accommodating.
And the third spirit tells us there is no pure yang and pure yin, because only yin or yang is unable to grow/develop/germinate itself. For example, if we only have males in this world, the whole human beings would distinct quickly. So that is the rule of the universe, everything that wants to grow and developing, continuous reproduction in an endless succession needs the dynamic of yin and yang. So that’s why we have a good person in this world, but also have bad guys. We need light but we also need dark. We can’t eliminate all the bad guys in the world, but we also have endless good guys. This is the truth and the fact in the universe. gradually, we will notice that yan represents our ideals and expectations, but yin represents down-to-earth, and we need their dynamics to fulfill our life blueprint.
So we now we know all the change in our universe is just yin and yang, but they are not separate, they are the one.
So let’s look at this.
This is Tai’Chi begets two primary force (yin yang), and two primary force begets four images, four images begets the eight diagrams.
So what is Tai’Chi? Tai Chi is the original source of everything in the universe. All lot of saying nowadays to describe this concept, some people called it the holy spirit, or ALL THAT IT, or the universe, or whatever. But Chinese call it Tai Chi. And Tai’Chi is either yin or yang. Yin and yang can’t be separated.
The next episode, we are going to have a further discussion about Tai Chi.
