Macy's clothes selection is awful. Everything is geared towards young women; nothing classic nor elegant. Pretty much overpriced trash. The Macy's here also discontinued their petite department. That was the final nail in the coffin for me.

I need a new pair of shoes. Let's jump in the car, drive to Foot Locker at the mall and buy some overpriced shoes. Said no one since the 1980's.

Idk about macys but the reason footlocker is going out of business imo is because most people would rather buy shoes online and also most big shoe buyers just buy exclusives like rare Jordan 1s or whatever the modern hype beast shoe is at the time. I personally still wear shoes i bought back in 2021 during the lockdown because i rarely got to wear them and they are still in good condition.

We started shopping at Costco because they have soooo much organic food. So it’s totally worth going there for bulk organic food. We are done with toxic chemicals and poison in our food.

Who actually owns these businesses. Not the locals. The locals pay the root owner for the right to carry there name. No how businesses really are. Albertsons owned by stock holders not by people. Just lasy bodies time to stop there greed. In the late 70s products were raised at 50% profit. Today the percentage is 300% why. Because enough us not enough. Walmart is raising prices to match Albertsons. But pay there people less.

The higher the prices, the less people can afford. Simple economics. Then use the tariff excuse to raise prices, before there are even tariffs…financial suicide. Some people are just refusing to pay some of these ridiculous prices.

Maybe if we (finally) rebuild our manufacturing base in the USA, and make the stuff we use, then tariffs won't be an issue. In the long run, it's the best way to go.

Oligarchs are bankrupting Americans. CEOs fight a living wage for their workers while earning millions in salaries. When are people going to see how stacked the game is? President Elect Musk wants to gut the social safety net. Think about that. The richest man in the world wants to turn most Americans into serfs.

Hi, Michael. Do you have a YT creator for the West Coast that you might suggest for CA financial/economic content? I'm in Southern CA outside San Diego. I'm 66, retired, I have no debt , own my home, have been a prepper for 5 years and on a fixed income. Looking for passive monthly income that is "relatively" stable in this unstable worldwide financial picture. Been watching you for several years. Always enjoy your subjects. Always very relevant. Thank you. Robin

Worked for Macy's 08 to 2018, what a horrible co. to work for. It was run by old middle age pompous men. They would nickle and dime our raises, they gave me a raise of 25 cents. based on unattainable sales goals. and the make you work the jobs of 3 people. You couldn't trust anyone coworkers or manager so many snitching weasals.

I don’t have empathy for Macy’s. They treat a customer like a nuisance.
You walk in and nobody offers any assistance. Instead they are order takers if you can get a person to take your money.
Instead of saying thank you, they say, “is this it?. Not thank you.
I truly think if the big retail stores we’re more sales professional
things would be better.

We've been in one for probably 2 years now.

They just refuse to call it for what it is because of political reasons.
We've all had the Government peeing on our leg and telling us it's raining.

I hate to admit that I support amazon because they are truly evil, BUT there's no comparing the ease of being able to find exactly what you're looking for at a cheaper price, and not having to get off your ass to buy it and deal with crowds, traffic, and lines. Not to mention, getting to the store and realizing they don't even have your item. Who has time and energy for brick and mortar shopping these days?

We're concentrating on keeping roofs over our heads, our vehicles maintained, and food on the table. It's not realistic and flat out stupid to "floss" in these days and times when financial uncertainty lurks everywhere. Besides, even with shipping costs, one can still find better deals online.

Stores like Macy's and foot locker are pricing themselves out of the market, 100 dollar pairs of pants and 80 dollar shirts don't boad well for most people using credit cards at ridiculous interest rates, to buy their products made for 8 dollars U.S. in foreign countries, materials and labor

Bottom line things got too fat. It never should have been so many stores with no real niche. Just like the 80s before corporations realized one person doing very little was over paid. That caught up with us. It’s all cyclical. Most of these places should never have existed. Look at Sears. They had every opportunity to be Amazon today. They did not innovate and look ahead. Every dog has its day. Gluttonous consumerism is killing us more than lack of 50 million low grade shopping options

I’m a server at Cracker Barrel, one of the busier ones in my area, and business was pretty lame this holiday season. As always we were open on Thanksgiving, but I literally made about half of what I made ten years ago. It used to be that on Thanksgiving a lot of guests would hand their server a card with money in it (usually around $50) along with their standard tip. And I’m not talking about regulars. I’m talking about perfect strangers that I’ve never waited on before handing me money left and right just to show their appreciation for their server working for them on Thanksgiving. Those days are gone! I didn’t get one card this year. Almost no one did. I don’t know how Trump is going to turn this economy around.
