I’m not affiliated with MBC at all and barely know David Platt, I am a legal professional and it’s rather disgusting to speak about a “victim impact statement” and suggest he has committed a crime that doesn’t even exist. Talk about self-righteousness.

False teachers are God’s judgment on people who don’t want God, don’t know Gods word. The few people pushing back were the ones who study the word of God. It should’ve been everyone pushing back. Every member should be theologically sound on doctrine especially if they get to vote. Church membership should be taken very seriously. Eldership positions as well. This shouldn’t have happened. The enemy prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Sounds like Platt was placing an emphasis on racial reconciliation and did not hold to a strong right wing America first ideal and a large contingent in the church had a problem with it.
Just an observation from an outsider who has watched these documentaries and also listened to Platt over the years.

Whatever got the effete Andy Stanley and the melodramatic Craig Groeschel seems to have caught David Platt.

Those fellows should be sociology profs at a junior college.

As an outsider this seems a lot more like a slanderous attack from a congregation stuggling to transition leadership, than pastor performing gross violations. This does not seem like a good thing to be celebrating.

This should be dealt with inside the church. The fact that this is published, shows these “victims” aren’t interested in the Gospel or Biblical church polity.

Our church, Wright Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach, has just gone through something very similar to what is in this documentary in how the leadership refused to answer questions. During the annual church meeting, questions were asked but, again, the leadership refused to answer. The church constitution stipulates that Robert's Rules for Parliamentary Procedures be used to conduct all official meetings. The most recent annual meeting these rules were completely ignored. Decisions were rammed through including placing family members of the senior pastor on the stewardship committee because he wanted a pay raise despite the fact that the giving would not support any raise. Those staff members who didn't "fall in lock step" were forced out and their reputations were denigrated, often in emails. Very sad situation.

I can see the deception, lies, and cover up but can we also see David's good intentions? Not sure! I am not particularly a fan of Mike Kelsey. When he apologized for saying "it is difficult for me sometimes not to torch ALL white people, particularly white evangelicals and Christians" I can tell that it was skin deep. He was justifying-blaming it on the clips. There was no real repentance. I was there at church physically and I have to confess to God for the disgust that I felt and few months after I left the church for 18 yrs being a member. I was there during those times of chaos and it was embarrassing.

I don't know this church but my question is, is this really the right platform or channel to talk about church issues and concerns? For me this shouldn't be uploaded but instead, church concerns should be talked about and resolve within the church by the help of the Lord. Unbelievers might watch this and will see how Christian churches are divided. And for me this is not an encouraging way to win souls for Christ. Church concerns shouldn't be put in public especially people involve here are obviously the church leaders and elders. It breaks my heart hearing brothers and sisters in Christ being divided. May this church finds restoration and forgiveness through our Lord Jesus Christ.

We became members of McLean Bible Church around 2019. We were coming from one church mess , and we were not aware of the conflict brewing at the moment at MBC. I started to feel uncomfortable with some of the things that David and Mike Kelsey were saying in their messages. There were good points, but there were points that left you scratching your head. Then there was the incident of Mike Kelsey, marching with Black Lives Matter and saying that he felt like torching all white Evangelicals. That indicated to me that he had some agenda. We were in attendance the Sunday that David preached/cried /whined that he knew he was part of the problem in the church because he was a white man and he didn’t want offend certain groups by preaching, one part of the Bible over another part. I didn’t know the Bible was segregated.) That was when I really “ WOKE” up. I told my wife we are out of here. I didn’t have the stomach for another major controversy after what I had
been been through at my previous church.
Just out of curiosity, I googled McLean mobile and saw that the documentary was being made. I watched it which then took me to first Baptist Church of Naples, Florida, where the SBC had influenced the change in the pulpit Just doing some basic research, it seems a waste of time to stay with that organization. Let the Liberals have what’s left of the organization. Your missions dollars will be more effective, going directly from your church to the f missionaries. Cut the overhead… Give Direct.

I'm halfway through this video and see absolutely nothing biblically, ethically, irresponsible, negligent, evil, illegal, or any grounds for even a bit of untrust in DP, much less what people in comments are calling for. Either everything indicting is in the second half or all of you are crying foul because of an unbelievably one sided video of a leader who tries to change things in a way you personally have presupposed issues with. Won't be watching further because they made no case at all. The Church is so divided today it's crazy, we eat our own for real.

The elder let the cat out of the bag to me. I think his name is Craig, and he remained unaware of many things, saying the elders did not know of decisions by the staff. Then, he also admitted to mistakes, which I'm appreciated of. The ecclesiology of the church is unbiblical, and that is a big part of the problem. To put the full blame on David Platt is disingenuous. Also, who made the discovery documents? Did the filmmakers, or a legal team for the purpose of legal action?

I cannot square their two person sermon content with the Bible. No exegesis, all Critical Race Theory. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation. God, by His grace, changes hearts and people walk with God by Faith. There is level ground at the cross of Christ, not uneven ground where peoples feelings and subjective perceptions are the arbiter of truth. The ideas they are selling from the pulpit are not resting on the sufficiency in practice, though they way they are. The pudding just doesn't have any proof here.
