Tanhankara, the hero high, Medhankara of honour great
Saranankara, abode of love, Dipankara, illustrious light


Kondanna, the people's Lord, Mangala, the Man Supreme
Sumana, the good hearted Sage, Revata, who enhanced joy


Sobhita, with virtue crowned, Anomadassi, chief of man
Paduma,torch to all the world, Narada, pilot unsurpassed


Padumuttara, peerless being; Sumedha, the paramount
Sujata, chief of all the world; Piyadassi, mankind's Lord


Atthadassi, compassion-grained; Dhammadassi, who dispel gloom
Siddhartha, matchless in the world; Tissa, restrained giver of the best


Phussa, all seeing donor of the gold; Vipassi, the unrivalled one
Sikhi, leader of boundless love; Vessabhu, dispenser of bliss


Kakusandha, caravan guide; Konagamana, done with strife
Kassapa, of perfect radiance; Gotama, the Sakyas glory


Through their virtue and might of patient love benign
May this be a shield around you/me; May health and happiness be yours/mine.


These 28 Buddhas, having fulfilled the perfections, defeated the host of the Evil One
and attained Enlightenment. By the truth of these words may joyous victory be yours/mine
