Really bro hyd clutch lol. Pull my junk ass hyd clutch and install cable. Yea it's a Honda. Good bike but yea DUH u have to put money in it
ОтветитьYes there is a one do it all bike. Buy a 450 dirtbike and put the road mod kit for 1k and your good 2go
Ответитьthat thing with the fly is funny as shit.
ОтветитьIs this still relevant ? Do the newer CRF450RL's have the same curse? Be cool to revisit.
ОтветитьOr just add a rekluse clutch - love it on my WR450F
ОтветитьMy overweight under powered as everyone says KLR would've ate that up
ОтветитьOops, i bought one. Its bad ass. You just seem like the rich kid on the block.
Ответитьlooks like u need a little motor boat if you just want to ride around in the water
ОтветитьI remember riding my first motorcycle too.
ОтветитьI forgot all about accidental broadcast brooo that just brought back so many memories from when i was 15
ОтветитьYou can blame the EPA. For Honda to make it EPA compliant, they had to make it run very lean. Being a de-tuned motor it was going to have some problems. Most motorcycles that comply with EPA standards need to be tuned for better response, better power, and motor longevity. Running lean isn't good for any motor.
Even the standard Honda dual-sport motorcycles need to be tuned for half decent power and motor longevity
How much is a big KTM super moto ??
ОтветитьFunny my 1979 XL500 ran lean and stalled or popped back in the exhaust.
ОтветитьMy xr400 always did the same!
ОтветитьI bought a 2023 Kawasaki ZX14r over an enduro because of the amazing deal. So far I’m $2500 into exhaust for exhaust, tune, but I stretch it out every time I ride. I don’t regret it but at the same time the cash for these emission bikes isn’t worth it. The new 500 may be, but whatever. Glad I found this video- it’s older but enjoyed the video. Bigger isn’t always better, try a 200 hp sport bike, they will bog down,
Stall, dog out in traffic. Definitely trying to find the best on/off road. Honda is releasing a 500 Honda in the best few months and will be a hit. It’s what I’m told exactly what everyone wants.
Dude I’m wearing headphones and that fly bout made me smack myself lol
ОтветитьThumbs up right after you got assaulted by the fly. I felt that. That is 100% my reaction also. LOL
ОтветитьALL Bikes have the same general issues.... too high priced & everyone w/ a YT Channel is gonna add every mod until they've got
a $40,000 bike that still lacks but they can't figure out why they don't like it now? But get online & someone will Tell YOU why You
don't like the bike you just sunk $40K into & then tell you to sell that piece of crap..... all that so you can start over w/ another
piece of crap. Thank the Lord for all the pieces of crap to Run as Content on these Channels. Thank you for letting me know
why I don't want the 450. Hey, I'm gonna research all bikes as the reasons why Not To Buy them & maybe I will save the money?
Thank you, I'm cured from all these videos..... BTW, you're right about this one being too high priced..... peace man
I am 51 now. I grew up riding motocross bikes, with my buddies, all over the west Michigan coast, mostly trails, but some tracks, some poker run / enduro. Bought a KDX220, before a spinal fracture car accident. Fast forward 20 years, I bought a Chinese 250, because it shipped to my door for $1078. It's been 6000 miles of fun. Now I'm shopping DRZ400 / DR650's because I can admit I don't need to hit triples, I don't need 70 hp. I already ride a 330 lb machine with 13ish hp, and shit suspension. The DR650 and DRZ 400 are worlds better. Plus, everything is comprise.
Ответитьnot the greatest you should probably take a step back and buy something slightly older like a CRF450X which I own the 2005 model reliable machine good on Road Off-Road high speeds low speeds no issues lol great video cheers
ОтветитьTeam orange, isn't that more 💰 ??
ОтветитьDrop 1 tooth off front sprocket
Ответитьhow the hell do you buy a brand new bike and not ride it for 3 months?
ОтветитьHave you tried running a reckluse?
ОтветитьI just got a 05 450 r i used to have a 450x and a cr 250 now i got the best of both worlds i even built up the x with a 53 tooth sprocket was a torque monster tho but still hate driving slow they need air running in the radiator get a xr 400 for trail but nit jumping multiple bikes is the anser bike life 🧬
Ответитьthis video inst accurate anymore i can 10000% ride single track and have zero flame outs on my 24 450rl i ride every day its the best dual sport the market
Ответитьwhich ktm did you buy?
ОтветитьI love the CRF450, was able to drive one with supermoto wheels and tires so much more fun... But for the dirt I stick to 125cc or 250cc 2 stroke or even a quad🤣🤣
Ответитьwhy not a ktm 690 enduro r or 500 excf
ОтветитьExcellent, well-balanced viewpoint, great video; couple points tho, and I honestly don't know the answer, but was the Power Commander not an option for this at that time? Currently it's about $400 for a Power Commander 6, which offers a lot of tuna (-bility) for this bike, which can be totally undone for stock setup with no effort. Also, one of THE BEST THINGS I ever invested in for a dual sport/dirt bike, which was a Rekluse clutch. A really hi quality centrifucal-force activated auto-clutch; put it in gear, let out the clutch lever, she sits there and waits at idle until you twist the throttle, and off you go! Can't stall it no matter what you do, and you can still use the clutch like normal when you want. Plus it can be combined with a quick shifter if done right! Granted, these are not the cheapest upgrades, but holy cow, a bike set up like that is on a whole different level... Currently I'm looking for a deal on a Yamaha WR450F, probably my favorite dual sport, which is gonna get the above-described treatment. I'm not currently a yt content creator, but I might start a channel documenting the work when the time comes... All comes down to time and money, but I'm reeeaaally motivated to get another dual sport right now, so it all depends of the right deal. Anyway sorry for the long comment, great upload here, really enjoyed it, except now I'm starting to come around to the belief that I MUST HAVE A GROM....
ОтветитьLet me get this straight, you dropped $10k on the bike and $500 on skid plates, but you’re balking at the price for exhaust and ecu? The EPA sucks, so that’s a given on a modern machine; the stock exhaust and tuning are guaranteed to be terrible.
ОтветитьTo be quite honest, you're one of very few who wanted a crf250f to be your dual sport. Any video in regards to propper dual sport bikes from this channel should be taken with less than a grain of salt.
ОтветитьI bought a brand new one back in 2019 which came with a vortex and fmf exhaust I had to install myself. Bike has been absolutely fantastic but I never got to ride it stock. I ride 30 mins to the forest, then spend a few hours bush tracking to a selected pub, then anywhere from 30 mins to an hour to get home. I’ve forgotten how much I’ve spent on it 😅
ОтветитьThe fly big as hell 🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьBecause even modded, it stalls way too easy
ОтветитьI chose the 300l instead
ОтветитьI got a deal on one with the Vortex, Yoshi, throttle tamer, and all kinds of goodies. It ran great. But I had come from a CRF250L for years, and the 450 just didn't feel that much lighter. Yeah, it had more power, but on the slower forest trails and exploring, it felt like a drag more than an asset. It was good for motocamping, and good on the road to get to the forestry roads, but it just wasn't the game changer I'd hoped for.
I sold mine as well, and unbelievably, ended up riding a friend's Husky and KTM one weekend, and now I have a 350 EXC-F. I really like Honda, and can't believe I'm on Team Orange. I even changed out the plastics to grey because I don't like Orange! But this bike is good enough on the road and so much fun on the forestry roads and trails. It's 30lbs lighter than the 450L but feels like 60lbs lighter. It's like you took my all-time favorite, the XT225, and added fuel injection and doubled the hp.
I still like the lower revving engine style, and would like to find a deal on a CRF300l and build it out, but those things are still oddly pricey even 3 years old. Maybe they're just the closest thing to what most people are looking for right now until one of the Big 4 releases a modern 400cc dual sport, (and not a modified racing bike). I hear the '25 DRZ could be that thing. That would kick the market in the rear and make the other manufacturers get to work again, instead of releasing "bold, new graphics".
Unfortunately for all of us, I think this is the future for all of us. A severely de tuned bike that we have to spend money on to make it run properly.
Ответитьyou da best - love riders
ОтветитьCRF 450l neighbour had one said big in heavy in tight stuff hes not a tall guy needs a bit of lard trimmed of it pipe by ECU flashing gearing big difference love Honda's he did sell it brought beta x trainer ive still have my xr440 love it 2003 model my second one also a super tenere wouldn't part with either
ОтветитьCan’t argue with owning multiple bikes.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing your experience!
I was actually thinking of replacing my 250L Rally with that 450 but now I'm having doubts. Problem with the 250Rally is that it feels gutless. It takes everything I've got to lift the front up 2 inches off the ground LOL. I'd love to get more torque without sacrificing higher speed performance.
He uploaded this in August 2021.. Does anybody have any of the newer models? And what are your thoughts?
ОтветитьOld video I know but right on as far as needing 2 bikes. I wished Honda for the 450L as well however after finding out how expensive it was and the mods I would need to make it perform correctly I could buy something else and bought my gasgas EX250 2 stroke. Later on I saved up and bought the last carbed model 2024 drz400s and that bike will stick with a crf450rl in the woods, single track, etc as long as you don’t drag race it on the street.
ОтветитьJust a nitpick but KTM and Husqvarna are also by definition "across the pond". America doens't make jack shit with regards to off-road motorcycles, not a damn thing. Am I assuming too much? You sound like an American!
ОтветитьJust make it California unfriendly. You will have a great bike.
ОтветитьAlways love the insight you give in these videos. Just started following after I found you once I bought my CRF300L. Now I’ve watched almost all your vids in a weeks time lol!! Lobe he channel!
