Hey sister hated herself the moment she said it, you could see it on her face, but she couldn't take it back so she left. There is no excuse for saying that no matter how angry she was. But it was clear she didn't mean it

This scene was so hard to watch. What her sister says is awful... It's also very real. Nia's sister had her entire life and purpose yanked out from under her, and she lashed out. It doesn't make it alright, and it's not a valid excuse, but it does make it real. At some point, we all say, or do something inexcusable, and we hurt someone we love. Nia's sister is in denial, and she directs her anger at Nia, because that's what denial is.

This whole storyline was profoundly impressive to me. It never once tried to say that Nia was anything but a woman, and even confirmed it with her divine birthright. It also didn't shy away from making life extremely difficult for her, despite having a family that loves her dearly.

Superhero stories often fall into tropes, especially when it comes to the reason that they reveal their secret identity. Kara sharing who she is as an act of profound kindness and friendship, is truly wonderful.

One gets really tied of the social cues being given in these shows with normal society being portrayed in an unrealistic way as the norm we are supposed to believe. As for the interaction of Supergirl and Nia - great scene. I just wish these show portrayed the world as it is in the normal human experience in the U.S.

I never watched the show. Shortly into this clip I realize that I didn't miss anything.

Nia's sister was wrong in what she said. I would point out though that she was speaking out of hurt, anger, confusion, and jealousy.

To me this was the last good season after that the show went downhill.

I mean the powers were supposed to pass from Mother to Daughter but with this Character i think it has more to do with whoever the Mother considers The Deserving Daughter even if said Daughter was a Biological Male....also later in this Season when Nia came out on Television i honestly think that was Dumb of Her to do i mean what if the main Bad guy had found out who she was under The Mask and decided to go after her Alien Family who are essentially normal Humans

I feel like this when the show started to go fully woke. I feel so bad for Melissa Benoist. She was so perfect for the rode. They did her nasty.

Typical Cuckservitard rhetoric. They have it completely backwards. You are what your brain wiring is. Hopefully that matches the outside. But Cuckservitards are stupid, like drooling idiot stupid. Looking past the surface is too hard. And they hate to admit being wrong. So they double down on the first answer offered based on superficial features. That's lazy and easier for their dim minds to process. There's also an element of fear in there. The Cuckservitards in DUMerica are already sexually confused and repressed. They're afraid to find out they are anything but 110% straight via accidental romantic involvement with a trans person.

The better way to handle gender would be to use that initial assumption as a tentative placeholder until the child figures shit out. But that's too complicated for dim minds because it shakes up the status quo. They're still seething over women gaining proper rights and gays being accepted.

Most shows are subtle, having a story that is slightly colored by moral or political undertones. Supergirl was blatant political content colored by just a tinge of story line. It started out okay, but by half way through I was rapidly losing interest. The last couple episodes I was thinking to myself "I think that when this season ends, I will stop watching and not follow up with the new season." And then the series ended. So I did make it to the end, but just barely.

I'm glad I never got into this show. I dumped Orville too because it was Hollywood wanting to preach their views. Not having it. I pay money and watch tons of commercials to watch things I like, not get preached too.

It is scientifically possible to explain why and how Nia got the powers.
Look up agender, non-binory and Gender fluid.
This is how "someone like you" could get the powers.
Then the transgender process and "someone like you" is a real woman! And always was!

The CW did such a great job casting Kara and Barry. The rest? Fine. But Mellisa Benoist IS Supergirl and Grant Gustin IS Flash. They absolutely should have put them into the movies.
